This game was a masterpiece at the time, and it is still so now. Nobody should miss out on my recent experience with a genuine work of art. The character swapping features, which allow you to revisit sections of the same level and relive our ancestors' migration patterns, are revolutionary and should be featured in all games. There's nothing better than returning to the same patch of dirt I travelled through 4 seconds before, only to shift to another 'Human' and resume my quest.

Combat is also thrilling! Spoilers, but: You get a wide range of equipment and weaponry to help your tribe thrive! Each weapon has its own set of abilities (such as 'hit','smack', or 'bash'). For the finest experience, I would recommend I would recommend playing this game with a controller! It might not be officially supported, but I'm sure you can make it work with how dynamic the movement system is!

This game could end wars, solve climate change, and teach us how to heal.

Honestly an amazing game. If you are looking for a rogue-like settlement builder with meaningful persistence and 'pick your own risk' dynamics, this game is a must!

The soul of Fire Emblem vibrates through this game, but it just feels better.

Great game, but there are a few things you need to watch out for. At this point the game is cheater infested, most of the high mmr matches are ruled by aim-bots and wall-hax, so you need to keep your mmr low. This means running into matches to die in an attempt to lower your mmr bracket. It's also a difficult game for solo players because all player groups (solos to trios) enter the same lobbies. So you'll eventually get confronted by a trio with little hope of winning the engagement.

Even with those detriments it is still entertaining and can make some pretty great moments.

There are far too many issues with this experience to take it seriously. When you pile on the fact that you have to pay for this nonsense you've gone too far.

There are constant issues with characters glitching through terrain, sync issues with construct/wall placement, AI pathing that cause characters to jump off ledges continuously. And those are just the bugs I found in a couple hours of player with a friend. Another hugely incomprehensible and unforgivable error is the fact that multiplayer progress is only saved for the host: when a friend reconnects to the server they are given fresh dwarfs without any of their previous gear or skills.

This is ridiculous and unacceptable for a DLC that came out 5 years ago.

Extremely entertaining, but hard to get back into after a break.

Fantasic graphics, audio, and gameplay. You'll collect resources, construct a base, craft equipment, research new technologies, and travel to different locations to find additional resources! The balancing of the game trends towards easy, but there are harder difficulties to conquer if you are looking for a challenge.

The game comes very close to a 3D Factorio: you are placed onto a foreign planet and tasked with creating a way back to Earth. But there are some big differences to point out: all resources are usable in their raw form so you won't be making factories to refine materials. The main focus will be harvesting materials to construct buildings and defenses, while researching new technologies to do these things more effectively.

The campaign mode takes about 8 hours to complete if you are pushing to get to the end. The game also comes with a survival mode that allows you to test your skills in a more stream-lined fight-or-die mode.

Horrid grind-fest where you are forced to replay the same battles with the same enemies in order to progress. There is some group content, but there are no new players to hit that content with. Don't get this game.

Great game, fantastic art and music! In this game you will fail again and again, but you will always be making progress towards victory. There are specific goals that you can view and achieve over the course of many playthroughs, providing perks for future attempts as you complete them. The game also has some fairly deep skill mechanics that, when learned, will allow you to turn the tides in a seemingly doomed situation. Throw in the fact that there is an active development team and you have an easy recommend!
