Let me preface this with Destiny 1 and 2 are some of my favorite games, there are some things that I take issue with, but lets start with the good things first:

PVE- As far as I am concerned PVE is in a great spot. There are tons of things to do like strikes, raids, seasonal activities, and dungeons. The 3.0 subclass updates has brought a ton of new ways to play classes, make builds, and experiment with new and old exotics alike to find a play style all your own. There are a few things that are janky but what game doesn't have a bit of jank. There is always something to do for PVE players whether you are a solo player, a group of friends, or like me and many others, looking of other community members to do hard content with via LFG.

PVP-Honestly I don't really play much PVP these days outside of iron banner, But from what I have been told there are a couple of issues in PVP whether that is people leaving matches, afk macro bots, or long wait times to even get into a game. These aren't exclusive to any particular region, but from what I can tell from being a NA player its much more prevalent in lower population regions where the PVP changes are felt more and make a much more noticeable difference because of the lower player base.

The bad- I dislike that Destiny 2 is labeled as a "free to play" game. Not because it is a false statement, the base game is indeed free, but because tons of the content outside of 2 raids, 1 dungeon, generic strikes, pvp play lists, and gambit are all that are included with the base game. If you want to do any of the other dungeons, raids, or seasonal activities then you have to pay for the DLC that they were released in. Thats an issue. The Forsaken pack witch released in 2018 is STILL $20USD. same with tons of the older content. If you wanted to buy all the DLC from Forsaken-Witch Queen it would cost you roughly $140 USD. and that doesn't even inclue the season pass for the current season if you want that it would be an extra $15USD per season or $40USD more for the deluxe edition of Witch Queen (the total price is $80USD for the deluxe edition of Witch Queen). That is crazy to me and this is coming from a person who has bought the deluxe edition of every expansion. If I was a new player and saw that price tag I would look at other games since not everyone can afford or will want to keep buying a new expansion every time. I feel at this point Witch Queen is fine on pricing, but the 30th Anniversary pack could be dropped $20USD and everything before it shouldn't be more that $15USD.

Overall I would say that this game is for you if you like getting new gear, designing load outs, raiding, and doing various other actives and most of all love the grind. I won't lie the game can get grindy when you get to end game activities. Its still a fun game but I would maybe wait to pick up DLC ONLY if its on sale since the pricing is a bit high for old content. Or try the game out for free and if you don't like the game play loop then maybe this isn't the game for you, but I hope to see you star side.
