The new multiplayer is great with friends. Awesome to chill and relax with and just have a good time. I will say the AI traffic needs some work...I shouldn't be penalized when they crash into me...

Localization needs some work; There's some obvious loss of translation in certain places. Otherwise it's a good game and scratches the same itch that Factorio and Satisfactory do.

Path of Exile meets Heroes of Hammerwatch. It's really REALLY good. My only gripe is the lack of true multiplayer. Remote Play together is okay, but not perfect and frankly a little clunky.

It's single player EvE online except good and less grindy.

Well worth the pricetag even at this stage of development and I'm eager to see where it goes!

There's no way to get ahead once a team gets the edge. You basically lose as soon as another enemy team gets a tier 6 or 7.

I cannot....CANNOT suggest this game is even remotely worth the asking pricetag. I was lucky enough to pick it up prior to the doubled price tag, plus a sale going on at the time, so I paid about $20. Well worth it, for that price, as I've averaged less than a $1/hr...however, I can't in good conscience continue to play this game knowing how the devs have become greedy and are claiming their game is worth the same as a AAA title, and even then some AAA titles aren't worth the $60.

If...and ONLY if the developers had continued development, optimized their game (because I feel content is a bit saturated), and flushed out the bugs and general clunky feel of control, and then CAME OUT of Early Access, perhaps then there would be grounds for such a price; Even then, as of right now, I can say that if you pay $60 for this game, you DO NOT get what you pay for.

If I could only refund this game now and give the devs a negative sale, maybe then I'd feel at ease.

Words simply cannot express my devoted love and admiration for the game that is shown before you.

To call Terraria merely a "2D Minecraft" is not only an insult to Terraria, but also to Minecraft; they both draw inspiration from one another and are both wonderful games, but that is where my comparison stops, for now it's Terraria's time to shine:

This is first and formost what enthusiasts might call a "Metroidvania" genre of a game. You explore to gain items, you fight to gain items, and you can of course mine....and craft...to gain items. Sensing a pattern here? These items only serve to help you continue on your journey as you defeat the enemies of the game and the bosses thereafter.

There is a highly distinct early-game, mid-game, late-game, and end-game stages, all of which have their own little quirks and methods so as to move on to the next stage. Replayability is a huge plus for Terraria as well: Once you "beat the game" you can keep playing. There is always more to do...

Bored? PLAY AGAIN! But this time play in a different manner, perhaps? There are 4 distinct classes in the game that are much more fluid than what is traditionally thought of as a "class": The Warrior, The Mage, The Ranger, and The Summoner all having their own unique playstyle and all have their pros and cons when fighting, exploring or otherwise. Note that the Summoner doesn't become a distinctive class that can hold it's own until the mid to late game.

Bored again? Add mods!!! There is a absolutely HUGE modding community that has remained active long before the massive 1.3 update to the Terraria base game.

It has been a long and wonderful 5 years of this games development and I'm honored to have been a part of it.

That being said, Terraria is not done...not even close: There is still more that is planned for the future and even when it becomes "outdated" it will still remain a spectacle of what a great indie game is supposed to be.

I look forward to what Re-Logic has planned for Terraria, Terraria: Otherworld, and Terraria 2 in the coming years.
"This is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps....the end of the beginning"

TL:DR : Buy this game..seriously...it will be the best $10 you've ever spent...period.

I've played Factorio on and off for over 5 years now, joining the community about half way through it's long development. I can safely say that it's been an absolute pleasure to watch this game grow and evolve to what it is today. Now on to the nitty-gritty:

Factorio is one of those games whereby there is no "right" way to play. It's ultimately sandbox, and ultimately YOUR factory. There is indeed elements of efficiency, supply, demand, production, and loads of maths and flowcharts you could potentially employ to make your factory the "best" at least in terms of efficiency...but it's not required...at all.

There is indeed a clear early-game, mid-game, and end-game, it often starts off very slow but will vastly pick up the pace. At that point, you can really set up YOUR own pace and again, play how YOU want to. What's more? The game doesn't "end" in the traditional sense in the end-game, you can keep playing and making and producing more and more, or perhaps start again but this time throw in some of the numerous modifications that are avaible on the website to spice up YOUR Factorio experience.

Like most games these days; Factorio is much more fun with friends, the multiplayer is currently a bit clunky though it is subject to vast improvement, especially considering the potential for Steam Integration. Be wary though, when playing with others they're will inevitably be a clash of opinions, your friend(s) may want to build something their way, when you would like to build it another way. As cliche as it may sound, the following moral applies here: "There is no "I" in team". Logically work out your differences and teach each other differing ways to accomplish the same thing. Then come to a consensus and continue building a GROUP factory. Playing with friends will ultimately help much more than it will hinder.

Finally, I will say that Factorio is one of the absolute best games I've ever had the honor of playing. I look forward to seeing where it goes and what the future will bring, and I encourage you all to join me in the journey.

"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
~Winston Churchill

~TL;DR~
Why are you reading long reviews that may or may not tell you anything? Buy it, you won't regret it.

Edit:

The game has now fully released, and my review has not, and will never change. Buy the game...and grow your factory.
