Do I really need to explain why this game is awesome, even now with older graphics it is still EPIC!

Half-Life: Epic
Half-Life Opposing Fronts: Epic OF
Half-Life Blue Shift: Somewhat less epic, but still fun
Half-Life 2: Epic 2
Half-Life 2 Episode 1: Epic 2 Episode 1
Half-Life 2 Episode 2: Epic 2 Episode 2

After all these years still cool, good controls, reasonable graphics (it aged well) and a cool action packed story. This was my second Star Wars game and it's still awesome, though that might just be nostalgia (played 1 playthrough).

Basically the same as 'Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast' in controls, looks and feel only with more RPG like features:

This time around you get to choose your character and become a Jedi, starting with a light saber and then developing your force skills along the way. Upon starting a new mission you can choose a new Force power to upgrade (up to 3 points, each level making it stronger) from either the light or dark side. The Core Force Powers (speed, Jump, saberskills and sense [see enemies/items/secrets through walls]) are upgraded within set times between Main-Plot related missions. Along the way you loose your light saber and get to build a new one, but this time you get to choose. 1 LightSaber, Dual-Saber or Saber-Staff. Each Saber has its own unique pro's and con's and Special Moves.

All in all a good game, if you can get passed the (rather well) aged graphics!

I have to say its fun to see how things changed over the years, no waypoints on where to go, sometimes I just had to search and go over places several times, only to see that I missed an airvent to go through. It might seem tedious, but it gives more immersion as it makes you feel like Kyle when he was finding a way to move through the areas, so for me that is a plus, alhough also an annoyance at times :P

Yes, well, I love it. Being a fan of the original UFO Enemy Unknown (X-Com Ufo Defense for some) I love and hate some of the new additions and changes. But overall it is an awesome game. Tired of the game? Get the Expansion.....or rather, get it right away as it is, in my oppinion, a must (also available on Adroid and iOS). Then get to Nexusmods.com and download the Long War mod, it makes the game come so much more near the original!

As for what will happen. People die, your soldiers die, your base gets attacked. Get over it, these things happen! (or save/load a lot :P)

Gotta love it :)

It is not as good as Oblivion or Morrowind as going into storytelling and diversity (why no spellmaking?) but its graphics make up for it. It is an awesome game and the DLC's add a lot of additional fun and gameplay.

Recommendations: visit the Nexus (bigger and better support then the Workshop imho), it adds a Ton more in Mods, making the game, bigger, better, stronger and faster... well in my case not the last one as my PC is old, but still, I can play it maxxed out with an old PC running Win7 x64 Pro. Dont install the Texture packs, get better ones from the Nexus.
There are excellent mods targeting all aspects of the game, if you dont like it, there is a mod that alters it (or a cheatmod that disables it, goodbye lockpicking, its the only thing I got annoyed with after a few hundred hours)

Obligatory Recommendations: Unofficial Skyrim Patch (and the ones for the DLC's), I know it might take a while to get used to using mods from nexus, but it can and probably will solve most, if not all, problems/bugs/glitches the game has.

Review of my experience:

In my first playthrough, I went as light as possible for me on mods, but spending over 400 hours on my first playthrough, there where just some things I needed fixing, and there where no DLC's back then, this is Vanilla Release I am talking about. I litterally got out of the 'mandatory tutorial area' (try the 'live another life' mod after the 1st playthrough [http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9557/?] it will get you places). After 1300+ hours I am still exploring new areas (and re-exploring forgotten ones, lol), this game has everything, love, romance, mariage, swordfighting, magic, enchanting, armor crafting, mining, cooking, buying houses, building houses (DLC/mod), alchemy (you have to get out there and harvest plants, catch butterflys, etc), walking, horse-riding, dragon riding (DLC), exploration and I dont know what I am forgetting.

Now how you go about this is your choice; be a sneaky thief and steal everything (and get cought, jailbreak and do it all over again), be a warrior and just stab everything (or maul with a warhammer) to death or you might prefer to just cast spells to solve problems. Now magic isnt limited to a few spells (though fewer than the predecessors), summon minions to do your bidding, make yourself invisible, cast firebals, lightningbolts or hurl ice spikes at your enemies, its your choice (though not always the best choice). If you want, you can do it all on one character.

Few points that I find annoying:
1) The war, there is a war going on....but, well, I didnt really found it convincing, its a small layer added, but can't really be enjoyed due to the limit of the game (and probably more the console game limitations not being able to deploy hundreds of NPC's at one time to simulate a real war), but hello and welcome MODS! Though my PC can't handle it, so :'(
2) Dragons..... I didn't see one DRAGON in the game, a whole lot of Wyverns yes, but no dragons, seriously! The (western) dragon is a mythical beast that has 4 (four) legs and 2 wings, making for 6 limbs. The Wyvern has 2 legs and 2 wings, making for 4 limbs. Sorry, my rant but this has annoyed me since someone made it clear to me that I didn't notice this after 300 hours of gameplay. It didn't stop me from enjoying the game, but it is a mayor oversight from the gamemakers, or I missed something in the storyline that explains this...I am not such a Loremonger that I read the ingame books, sorry.
3) I have 10 fingers, of which 2 are ringfingers, why can I only wear one? I could easilly wear a third on a necklace. Oke, balancing issues I know, but make it 2 rings, common! (Hello infinite Ring and Necklace mod)
4) Enchanting, awesome I can add multiple enchantments to one item, but not all enchantments on every Armor/clothing type, it annoyed me and... got modded! woohoo.

So all in all, the game is great, but initially buggy which can be a total gamebreaker for some, I am used to it due to experience with Bethesda Games (Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas) and Mods and Fixes arent far away to solve them, but it is bad for publishers to do this, but atleast they give the possibility to fix it!

My score:
Vanilla: 7/10
Ultimate (with DLC's): 8/10
With Mods: 11/10

Not better then Portal (1) in its campaign and story, but the added Multiplayer is totally worth the few bucks it costs.
