Plays like a mix of Legend of Zelda 2 and the old Castlevanias. Pretty darn good I'm not usually a big fan of platformers and I found this pretty challenging at some points but it was fun enough that I really just wanted to keep slogging through the tough parts. Lots of replayability with alternates to the main character (input during name select on file creation) and the two moral paths play very differently in how you use certain spells. I guess my only thing is that bosses get to be way too easy if you just stack all the buff spells and whale on them. So most of the challenge of the game is environmental. There's really 3-4 a few challenging platforming sections that really cause certain sections of the game to drag on but that might also be me being bad or trying to rush those sections. I would say pick up the game on sale. Maybe not worth the full 20 bucks I liked it well enough.

This game is hype as hell! Very fun footies based fighter and jump arcs create so much depth. Rewards fundamentals. A bit more offense focused but doesn't feel too punishing on defense.

You can't turtle quite as much as Street Fighter for example due to limited block and tick throw setups seem pretty plentiful. You are really encouraged to find an opening and pressure your opponent and mix them up.

The short hop jump arcs just feel really good. For example starting from back and rolling the stick forward to diagonal up (412369) results is a long distance shorthop which you can use to start a block string while avoiding lows or ground based fireballs.

Execution seems a bit strict but encourages accuracy over speed. Sort of like GGAC+R where your super (usually 632146X and a button or 236236X) has to be pretty on point.

Also just seems like a good choice to get drunk and play with friends so it has casual appeal as well.

Have had a lot of fun with this so far.
Pros:
Pretty fun pvp.
Good fun with friends in comms.
Able to Respec or try new weapons and builds fairly easily no combat level bracket means you can do a bit of everything and find what you like without making your character unviable for pvp. (looking at you runescape!)
Lots of variety in weapons and items to keep things interesting.
Hellgates are a really interesting PvPvE type activity I don't see a lot of in other mmos. Have had a lot of fun with it.
Cons:
Kind of a grind to get to actual content (Tier 4 equipment and materials is where the game really opens up.)
You will have to delve a bit into the metagame if you want to do well in clanning
You really need other people to play with you to be successful in this game.
Meta builds tend to be really cookie cutter and lots of people run them so lots of build matchups boil down to a rock paper scissors type dichotomy unless they severely misplay.
Less of a critique of the game but lots of information on this game is severely outdated and doing research and builds can be a bit of a challenge so if you want to get really into pvp you may have to test a lot of things yourself.
Since content can be a bit grindy you will want to sign up with a build to help you bit past it if your impatient finding a good guild can be a bit of a challenge.
