A classic game and for good reason. The general atmosphere and the feeling gotten out of exploring these dream worlds is mesmerizing, and the actual content is fascinating, leaving a lot of food for thought.
I did have to get guided a bit to finish up my playthrough/get some of the special events, but still, I feel like that is a part of the experience anyway.
Definitely a game worth exploring.

ZUN's attempt at making a roguelite. In theory, a game in that vein expanding upon the card system introduced in the previous touhou game, Unconnected Marketeers, should have been a slam dunk; but the combination of having to grind a fair amount to unlock cards and card slots (which you will need for the later stages) and of having said stages be incredibly luck reliant (there are certain possibilities for the later waves of the stages that will just obliterate you, with not much you can do about it) makes for a very frustrating experience.

But hey, at least the soundtrack is great!

Really solid touhou fangame shmup with a powerful hyper system that makes for really dynamic stages. Overall has interesting patterns and to top it off looks incredibly clean, it's quite fun!

If I had one thing to knock against it is that I personally ran into some performance issues during certain segments, but, my computer is a bit of a potato, so take that with a grain of salt.

Would definitely reccomend for anyone who enjoys shmups!

Let's be honest, if you've ever heard of this game, it was probably something along the lines of "it's megaman but, you know, anime!", so let's cut down to the chase: does this game follow through with that promise in a satisfying way?

The answer is, if you love everything classic megaman (think the NES games), then this game will hit all the right buttons, absolutely. But I do mean everything, because a lot of the awkward design quirks those games had (incredibly dumb bosses, like this game's homages to MM2s Dragon boss and to MM1s Yellow Devil, which manage to be somehow worse than their original counterparts; or barely usable weapons, similarly to MM5, virtually all your weapons are essentially unusable outside of the bossroom, with your vanilla charged shot being incredibly strong by itself) are completely present in here, but most of the original charm is intact; and if you didn't mind the weird quicks of the classic megaman games, then you will absolutely fall in love with this title!

Sidenote: Schwer's stage might be one of the funniest first time experiences I've ever had in such a game (not to spoil too much, but its reminiscent of classic trap game design, like your syobon action's or i wanna be the guy's out there)

1.3 came out, so scratch that XD

This game is excellent in all regards I would say, not only it does the two most important things in a video game right in my opinion (fluent controls, and fun ,challengeing level design) but it also has some very pleasing to the eye and ears aesthetics (or grafics depending on how you say it) and music.
But what the game really shines though its in the boss fight, wish are mostly really fun and rewarding yet still hard as balls.
One problem I do have with the game is the ultra-cryptic stuff at the end (path of decay, summoning chamber) that you kinda need a guide or a video to pass.
As is probably one of the best platformers ever made I will give it a 67/69

This game is reealllyyy good. Not only it is good as a platformer but also as a standalone game. I feel like the difficulty is pretty balanced and hard for most of the time with some exceptions wich have either a difficulty that is way too hard for the moment of the game (Plague Knight being the prime example) or just way too easy (the entrance of the tower of fate).I really enjoyed most of the spells, but some of them, even tough they´re fun to use,they are terribly bad against 99.9 % of the enemies in the game.But that is pretty much all I disliked , the rest is pretty incredible , the level design is awesome, the bosses are fun to fight, the phisics are extremely well done and feel good, and most importantly, YOU CAN REMAP THE CONTROLS, USE A CONTROLER !!!
If you havent figured it out already, I love this game and recomend it if you like chalenge and stuff.
Play it !
(I seriously dont advise to do a no items run, it will KILL you !! Tough if you are a masochist, well give it a try ...)
