Still one of my all time favorites. When I need a notebook to write down my end state, we have too many hamsters trying to spin the wheel. Challenging, complicated, and absolutely free to do anything how you wish. My kind of game.

Early Access Review
Great Game. Looking forward to future updates. Hope maybe to see a more in depth timeline, some more building structures, modes of transportation, increased animal type, and of course a bigger map. Thanks devs!

Early Access Review
Where to begin on this one. This is a game I have had on my wishlist for quite some time now. Excited to see it finally drop a few weeks ago. Yesterday I fired it up and after a few hours of play and was honestly a little frustrated. Frustrated to the point where I almost gave it a not so good review, I held off and put it down. I had remembered that this game is in Early Access and a true attempt to make this work was important. So today, I gave it that second shot. That being said, here are my pros, cons, and annoying bugs:

Pros:
-Straightforward crafting: Easy to understand, Clean window for selections.
-Simple controls: Not too complex and easy to adapt to.
-Building flexibility: Able to craft essentially everywhere and anywhere.
-Adequate resources: Plenty of resources for food, water, base, or anything else you desire even with bugs (see bugs).
-Overall appearance: Clean graphics and textures.
-Map. Starting with a map and compass and the ability to use intersection methodology to determine location of other
islands.
- Potential: The most important Pro.

Cons:
- Hitbox: Needs adjusted. Hitting fronds at the complete opposite end of log. Small window to chop logs.
- Fires: Last roughly 1 minute so have food ready if you wish to cook it. Cannot seem to rebuild fire in same position and have to remove rock ring completely every start.
- Fire Saw: One use only.
- Swimming: Cannot swim even with full inventory, just sink to the bottom.
- Crafting: Need a better balance on resource requirements, i.e. foundation and floor frame before adding floor is unnecessary.

Bugs:
- Blue prints: Roll with physics with no materials added and at times completely disappear, even with added materials.
- Raft goes crazy and is completely unusable. Sinks to the bottom, launches in the air, or disappears altogether on use.
(100% of the time)
- Raft disappears on load of a save game. (100% of the time)
- Tools sometimes disappear on drop. (50% of the time)
- Tools may duplicate in toolbelt and bag upon save load. (100% of the time)
- While approaching another island, game hard freezes with loud seagull sounds and requires task manager to close.
(100% of the time).
- Saves don't reload in the original save state. (100% of the time)
- Saves load previously used resources or take away resources never consumed. (100% of time)
- Saves do not work when entering through Esc menu. Cannot confirm or cancel (Yes or No option). (75% of time)
- While entering canoe log, don’t always enter correctly. View skewed as if you were sitting in it diagonally. (25% of time)
- Resources (logs, palms) disappear or get stuck in mid-air and are unreachable. (25% of time)

Before reading on, know that I do support the development of this game. My comments, criticisms, and opinions are exactly that, mine. Sometimes honestly is the best medicine although it may hurt to say. All in all, I would put this game in its current state, in pre-alpha. While I do understand this is as early Alpha as it gets, in my opinion, it wasn't even ready for that. I enjoy participating in Alpha versions of games and being able to help mold its development in a very small way and have done many. This one in its current state, is not there. I will say that there is much potential in this game but a delay in its release should've been done. Basic functionality of craftable items (i.e. raft) is definitely frustrating. Bugs in those items? Yes. Functionality? Absolutely not. I have decided to put this down for a few months and see the improvements and the progress it has made in that time. My only hope is that, as in many Alpha games on Steam, that the devs don't take what money they made from it and run with the game in an incomplete state. I will recommend this for others players who have patience, passion, and want to see this game from start to hopefully finish. However, if you are looking for a 25% game and being stuck on an island for the unforeseeable future with repeating your builds over and over again hoping they will be there on a reload or when attempting to function, you may want to hold off for a few major patches.

To the devs, I do appreciate the time that you have put into it so far and definitely hope to come back to this game and not only see some major improvements, but some positive reviews at the same time. I am sure game development isn’t easy and the criticisms received are hard to overlook and forget but may that be your motivation to prove them wrong. Good luck on this development!
