This game makes you feel smart about yourself in a HL-like setting. Take that, math teacher!

I enjoyed this game for the most part, but there is no denial that it is simply unfinished, unpolished and rushed.

I had a few benefits of the doubt for such claims, but when I stumbled upon a key item (literally) which had no texture and instead was covered in a deffault UE4 checker texture, I knew exactly what was going on.

- Awful performance
- Unresponsive controls
- Bugs, glicthes and technical issues
- Unfair branches that don't make sense at all (You can die for chosing an option that will be crucial to chose to survival in future chapters. How does that make sense in a video game?)

This game is just a BIG fan service and for what it can be passable just as that, but the price is not worth it.

Entity displeased...

Infected Free Zone provides SUCH a level of immersion that I've never witnessed in any strategic survival game before. As I am writing this comment, I am building a fort around my actual home, trying to find those pesky raiders, while carefully navigating through the town I grew up in!

Incredible, I do not care about bugs or pathfinding issues in it. What matters is how fun it is.

For an early access, this is a MUST HAVE!

From a new player's point of view, this game has such a small appeal factor to it to the point that I don't think there is a single reason for anyone to get on board with this game. But even then I do see why it has a dedicated fan base and at times I also wanted to stick with it... But allow me to explain more in depth.

What I liked about Elite Dangerous:

1. This game provides an extremely realistic and open galaxy exploration experience, where players are able to set their own goals and get profit out of them. The feeling of actually controling your very own ship is pure joy! When it comes to visuals, effects, sounds and atmosphere, this game might be one (if not the best) of space games on the market.

2. It is a spectical of a concept! You see that thing out there? Fly towards it, land on it, see your friends fly by you while you are inside of a station, see them land there too, get on board of their ship! The 'wow effect' stays there for a very long time and I've never seen such freedom in any other game.

3. Wide selection of activities is also something that (at first) makes the gameplay a lot more engaging and rich with variaty! Tired of combat? Try mining? Mining is boring? Explore and uncover new places! Still bored? Eh... Well, about that...

What I disliked about Elite Dangerous: (To put it lightly)
.
1. Let's start with the fact that ship customization is locked behind a premium currencty. Sorry, but I think it is not a crazy thing to expect from a game - some easily earnable yet common customization options in an online live service experience for newbies that do not require hundreads of hours of gameplay. It's not like you have players around to show off what you have earned, but even then, one grey triangle after another blue-ish grey triangle in your hangar really makes the gameplay THAT less fun.

2. This game does not provide any crucial information that you NEED to know in order to have an enjoyable experience. You are going to be watching more tutorials than playing this game, I am not even mentioning all of the third-party resources out there that you HAVE to view at all times and have them on 'standby'. Do I dare to tell you that you also need a second monitor with youtube on it in order to have SOME kind of engagement from traversal between locations and systems? TicToc has nothing on this game...

3. Technical execution of this game is FAR from being smooth. I was closing my eyes on game's performance, because it doesn't affect the gameplay all that much, even though my machine is able to run EXTREMELY heavy games, like Resident Evil 4 or even Baldur's Gate 3. But what the hell is wrong with anti aliasing in this game? No matter what settings I choose, it looks like minecraft! And runs like it too! It stutters and jumpr from 140 fps to 45 fps ALL the time...

4. There is zero online activity. Online play is solo play. Without friends, chances of stumbling upon any players are so... pathetically low that this game might as well be listed as a single player experience in store.

*
Conclusion:
.
The more I play the game, the less fun I get from it. My friends (who've been playing this game for a WHILE) have a lot of cool stuff and whenever they explain what I have to do in order to get A FEW steps closer to their position sucks out any motivation from me. The amount of times I heard 'Oh, you gotta spend an EXTREME amount of time to get X thing... And even then you gonna earn billions on top' is scary, man... Especially when there is a 'dead game' topic often met on forums :/

Might play it every now and then with my friends, but outside of that, not worth it in my opinion.

Cute, but underdeveloped. With the level of complexity in gameplay (which is low), it's surprising how buggy it is.

As a meme, it can be a funny gift, but I don't see anyone purchasing it as an actual product to try out.

I enjoyed it though >///<

I change my mind... This game is EXTREMELY punishing, especially towards new players. If you did a slightest mistake, be asured, this game will stomp you into the ground for that.
