Starbound is a spiritual successor to Terraria the 2D sandbox game largely based around a in depth crafting system and boss progression, It was a great success so obviously people were going to have high hopes for this game.

Now the game itself to that point that is completed is ok. It didnt progess or change much since the original Terraria. Personally I thought it felt like a bit of a reskin whilst adding new worlds/planets. You spend a lot of time just walking around defeating monster after monster which gets very boring.

The Art Style was very nice. It was crisp and polished if a bit unfinished but it still managed to seem original, The aliens standing out the most. They all looked different and were all random which was nice, instead of just copy and pasting the same monsters over and over again.

Overall my opinion is that if they had consistently updated the game and added more content it would of been great, but as it stands it is mediocre and unfinished.

Infestation : Survivor Stories

This game was a trash dump when it was first released but over time they have brought out patches and updates and eventually learnt to listen to their players or customers.

The game is now at a playable level although there are better games out there Infestation or "War Z" has definately come quite a way since it was first released.

Although hackers can still be common the Devs are working hard at that and its gotten much better. Most major hacks are now detected and you are banned within minutes.

The Gameplay itself isnt that bad ive found the gunplay to be fun if at sometimes a bit unforgiving. The zombies are painful but are also dumb so are easy to out run or sneak past. And there is nothing better than finding a gun or Katana after a 20 minutes walk to get to the good loot.

I would give it a 6/10 but to be honest with this game just wait until its on sale and pick it up then because its not worth it at the full price.

Legend of Grimrock
A 3D take on a RPD board kind of style. The game is based in a dungeon which is situated inside a mountain, Your 4 characters are prisoners and your only chance of survival is to escape the dungeon.

You slowly progress floor by floor down a grid style environment. It is in a way turn based but it does it very well. The controls are very easy to learn and everything is taught to you pretty early in the game.

The art style is very typical of a dungeon rpg you have the vines hanging from the walls and the cobblestone bricks but for a dungeon it can look very pretty the monsters especially have been made very well with their stationary movements and attacks.

One of the only issues I had with this game was that some of the puzzles I just didnt understand or they just werent obvious so I had to check some youtube videos but that could just be down to my own incompetence.

I rate it a 8/10

Definately check out the sequel as well!

The Forest.

Its still in Alpha so you have to cut it some slack but without friends playing with you it gets mighty boring very quickly.
I seem to get on once a month when the updates are released play a few hours and then forget about it again, But its a shame because it's such a great game but the developers obviously cant get out new content any faster than they already are.

The game itself is made well its got many problems which will be ironed out over the Alpha process "Hopefully" but the world is very pretty and the AI is well made. Cutting down trees has got to be the most enjoyable thing in this game they have just made it feel so satisfying which is weird because its meant to be the boring part but its AMAZING I loved it. It also has some of the best base building I have ever seen in a first person game.

Great game for an Alpha Build 9/10

On full release I will write another review going further into the gameplay and mechanics.

I would recommend this game to anyone who has $100 to throw at ingame items.

I really enjoyed this game up until level 10.
The mechanics were solid and it even had a few original ideas thrown into with the class activatible abilities.
The Customization was really well created you had lots of different options to choose from but thats about where the compliments end.

Once you hit level 10 you are kicked from the beginner servers and put up against just about anyone it can find.
The matchmaking servers are terrible, I have found that whilst queing as a level 12 I'm playing against level 30s.

But truly the major issue is the pay to win idea of the game. Most times you die will be to snipers that can one hit you for 500 damage to the toe because they bought the latest gun as soon as it was released for $25.

If you want a free shooter the best I can recommend is Blacklight Retribution.
