Great Game Overall for the type of game it is and the price. Theres really no other naval age of sail game like it that i am aware of. There are some issues with it. If you dont have some serious time to invest in playing and learning the game then its probally not for you. Being in a clan/guild is becoming more and more required as they update the game aswell as being on teamspeak with members of not only your clan but other clans aswell. Especially in port battles.

Has the United States, Dutch, French, Pirates, Spanish, Danish, British, Sweedish as nations you can play as.

The game has a huge map (Both a big pro and small con) that can take hours to sail across. It covers the south east coast of the United States down towards central/south america and the carribean islands. Its a game thats really designed for a lot of players to work properly and thats one of the key issues. It just dose not have the player base to make the game work they way it should. So the updates that do come out are usually geared to try to correct problems that really are not bad ideas or problems with the game as much as it is just simply not enough people to make it work well like its intended. Its like a little economy you just dont have enough people to make it work well or even test it out. Then an update will come along and either start completly new with totally differnt things and ideas, ect. or try to correct problem that only exsist because of the lack of players for such a complex ideas. Also the game is not forgiving in terms of the amount of time needed to get things done. Bottom line is yes the game is fun and i think its worth the money at this time (subject to change). But thats if your ok with accepting all the flaws. I would suggest you go on youtube and check out videos, one channel that i would suggest is jeheil naval action. The guy keeps up with the game and gives a pretty fair review of updates to the game aswell as a week by week update to whats has happened in game.

So if you like to login battle log off all in 20 mins this games not for you.
If you like to get involved and have some serious time to invest in getting things done that to most would be boring like sailing across the map or getting grouped up and staged for the next port battle, then this game is likely something you would enjoy.

This game really just needs a constant flow of people to be online but i honestly dont think that will happen its a small percentage of gamers that enjoy this kind of game. Not a reason to avoid buying but needs to be understood and accepted before buying. Good Luck, Hope to see ya in game.
