The year is 2009; your mom just made you your first World of Warcraft account. School just went on Christmas break; addiction sets in, and suddenly you are a 9-year-old up at almost 2 AM sneaking to the computer so you can play all night while Mom sleeps. This is how this game makes me feel: while not being an open-world MMORPG, this game is amazingly immersive; combat is a 10/10, with amazing scaling, starting you off on a dark beach surrounded by the undead after narrowly escaping death. with nothing but a hammer and your wits. Combat slowly ramping up faster and faster until you blink, and you are exploring the jungle wilderness of a long-dead Vaal civilization, smashing 4-armed gorillas, the ever-present zombie, and giant mutant ant-lions. This is my first POE game. I didn't get to experience the first one, but I always heard good things from friends who played various leagues in between content droughts in World of Warcraft. Safe to say, GGG got me; I foresee myself throwing thousands of hours into this game over the next few years and hope everyone is excited for the new weapons and class combinations that are left to come in the future.
