I would compare this level of transformation and detail to the RE2 & RE4 remakes. A masterfully executed overhaul of the original from 2001, the atmosphere is heavy, as well as the soundtrack and ambience. The story remains fully intact with some very minute changes to how the player traverses through it, while also expanding the world and extending the playtime significantly. While I would give this game a 10/10, it needs a bit of optimization. Dont get me wrong, for the most part im running 45-60 fps, there are some hitches with traversal stutters and some areas with a lot of detail and things going on that got me down to the 30s. But in no way did this detract from my experience really, the game is phenomenal and most certainly worth a purchase. 9/10 only because performance could use some TLC.

I literally get 30-50 fps with stutters, all settings turned down idling on spawn beach, 1080p, balanced dlss. This is just Survival Evolved but worse somehow

The fact that they released paid dlc before getting the game to a enjoyable state already tells you what you need to know.

So much content, great netcode, solid gameplay, highly optimized, and much more for just 15 dollars.

The framework is there, systems work well. Just needs some polishing, additional content, bug fixes, and the story to be fully implemented, but this is off to a much better start than the first game for sure.
