Pros:
+ Deep crafting with complex crafting recipes and intermediary resources
+ Nice art style
+ Sound and music is ok
+ Has farming, cooking and building
+ Scales well on a 4k monitor

Cons:
- Grindy and I mean very, very, very grindy
- Repetitive
- Not a lot of PvE content and variety (mobs, locations, points of interests)

My story:
I've clocked about 40 hours in the game (most of those hours were just gathering resources to craft ammo), playing single player on my local server and at first the game looked fun, but after i've explored the whole island so that it all shows up on the map, seen all POIs, all mobs and got all T1, T2 stuff unlocked and half of T3 stuff unlocked, I can tell you this:

I don't see the point of the super long grind to reach T4 stuff, for me it feels not worth my time anymore, because I've seen everything the game can offer in terms of PvE content. Yeah it could make my life easier, more interesting things to build and mounts, but for what? So that instead of shooting a lizzard 9 times, i would shoot it in idk 7 times or less with the T4 weapons, what's the point?

I feel like I've already killed every type of mob in the game at least 100+ times (That includes those tough big scorpions) and for the most part, for me the loot from POIs in single player don't feel that much rewarding apart from few items, like medical supplies etc, but 95% of the loot is just resources I can get by simply mining, hunting or gathering. (I would love to see uncraftable better versions of tools, gear and other special items that have a rare chance to pop in loot, I think that would make it much more interesting compared to regular items, that you can craft yourself).

As for resource gathering, I've been stuck using steel tools for a long, long, long time in the game now, mining charges don't feel like they are worth the effort to craft (I did try them, they very rarely have a radius, that could destroy 4 boulders or more, usually you can get 3 boulders in the charges range and that's just not worth it).

The fastest way to get learning points in the game is by hunting various creatures in the game and that becomes to feel like a huge chore for me now, because you have to craft a ton of ammo to do that mindlessly chopping down those resource boulders, then waiting for all to craft and then go hunting, rinse and repeat <- that's the endgame right there to unlock T4 stuff and once you will get better T4 technologies, you still have to rinse and repeat and grind the same mobs 1000+ times more to unlock even more T4 stuff.

I will update the review if things will change with future updates.

With Automation Update they released micro transaction store and to get all the fancy things you need to cash out about additional 200€ and more when they add more things if you want to unlock them all.

To be clear, I have nothing against micro transactions in games IF they are MMORPG games, that have servers, that have certain upkeep costs, this game however doesn't have to keep servers up, that support thousands and thousands of players playing online at the same time, which to me is unacceptable for a game that costs 28€

It's an alright space game with a little bit of crew management, crafting and a ton of shooting bad guys.

What got me hooked in this game is that for certain game actions you have consequences, that might impact your game in a positive or negative way, depending on how you react to certain situations, sometimes the "positive" solution might not be the best solution.

I haven't finished the main story quest so I can't really tell how good or bad it is, but the beginning missions were alright, quite interesting. Side missions aren't that much different from some random encounters, and speaking of them, I wish there would be a larger variety of random encounters, because after 8 hours of gameplay I've noticed them repeat more and more.

So far it's a lot of fun, however I hope that the devs keep adding more variety in random encounters, missions, ships, gear etc over time, as an early access release, the game felt decent, no major bugs so far.

\While the first few hours playing this game felt exciting and refreshing, especially with the nostalgic feeling, that it gave, reminding me of old games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil 2.

Once you gone through the first few low level locations, moving to other locations didn't change the scenery, the interiors looked for the most part very similar, the infected got more bullet spongy and added a few more game mechanics such as bosses having special abilities and special zombies as ads, but the gameplay stayed the same, clunky and not very responsive, because your character moves like a truck.

Leveling up for the most part increases stats, a hand full of perks add new game mechanics such as dodge, kick, sprint etc.

The user interface is very clunky for modern standards in 2018 and some games 20+ years ago had better UI design than this game.

Worst part of the game - loading times on every single door in the game, EVERY single door. It gets old fast and in my case, this was the main reason I wanted to quit the game, because I had to stare a few seconds on a loading screen whenever I change rooms. Even a toilet requires to be loaded in for a few seconds and that's when the game is installed on an SSD, my gosh, I don't want to imagine how horrible it would be on a regular HDD.

Oh and not to mention, that there is no map or minimap in the game and you have rooms connected to other rooms, rooms that are connected to corridors, corridors connected to corridors and going one door feels the same as going through another door (you don't get an animated door like you do in Silent Hill or Resident Evil, it's just a black loading screen) so it's really hard to keep track where you are in in the building in relationship of the buildings layout.

I don't know what the developers should change to improve to make this game more enjoyable, but overall it felt very repetitive, grindy and dull after just a few hours of gameplay and later I just didn't get a feeling of progression, rather than being punished and having to deal with zombies with abilities, without getting any new gadgets/gear to deal with them.

In my opinion it's the best zombie survival game out there. The graphics aren't the best in the world, but the gameplay is solid and can't be found anywhere else in a package like 7 days to die, where you have a fully destructible environment, structural integrity, looting, zombie slaying, defending your bases and repelling zombie hoards every blood moon.

The biggest feature, that is selling the game for me is the fully destructible environment, on top of that you can build in the game almost anything within compliance with structural integrity rules.

On top of the above features, the game is very highly moddable and to do that initially you only really need Notepad++ to edit game configuration files to tailor the game for your own play style so that you can have the game you want.

The controls are horrible, the fighting is clunky and the graphics are meh at best. The models of the characters are sub pair as well. From a 2017 game I was expecting something a little better. Saving done using checkpoint system, jeez, who thought that's a good idea?

I got this from Humble Monthly Bundle, but after checking the games price on steam, it's not worth the asking 30 Euro price! At best 10 Euros, maybe.

If you are really bored and don't have anything else to play or if you are tired of all the games in your game library, then YLands might be something for you.

The graphics are meh,
The performance is meh,
But it's a big sandbox and your imagination is your limit.

First of all I wanted to point out the fact, that I got this game right at the beginning when it just came out in Early Access on steam. Back then it was pretty bare bones, no multiplayer, no infinite worlds, planets. Very basic building stuff was available and as all those early access games, it looked promising.

Since then the game has grown quite a bit, a lot of stuff has been added and it's no longer in an alpha state, however one thing has been plaguing the game since the very beginning and still is - bugs and lots of them. Most of the bugs I have encountered are related either with physics, crashes, freezing, desync issues in multiplayer and so on. With all the issues the game was having I took a long break from the game.

One of the recent patches supposedly fixed most if not all physics related bugs related to rotors, pistons and many other buildable moving parts in the game. This patch (at least on the paper) was a game changer for me, so I decided to give this game a go after a long time of not playing it because of before mentioned issues.

And guess what, more bugs. With all the available mods out there for this game, I decided to start a new survival game without any mods and see how well it performs and right off the bat I encountered an issue related to loading the newly created game scenario (Crashed Red Ship). It was loading the map so long, I ran out of patience and killed the Space Engineers process in the Task manager. To troubleshoot the issue I decided to reinstall the game just in case.

After I got my save loaded up for the new scenario, everything seemed to run just fine until the first crash/freeze of the game within an hour of gameplay. Since I left the auto-save feature on, I said to myself, that's fine, not a big deal, worst thing that might happen is I will lose 5 minutes of progress.

So I sat and played the game for a couple of hours, during which the game froze/crashed on me 10 or so times, all of which were related to some form of interaction with the inventory screen, either by opening the ships inventory, fiddling with some functional block settings or moving items from one inventory screen to another.

This kind of unstable gameplay was the last straw for me so I decided to write this review, because in my opinion, game, that's no longer in an alpha state should not have this kind of issues.

It's not a bad game if you want to shut down your brain after a hard days work at the office.
