An even more amazing sequel to already amazing original. Like Portal 2 to Portal, TPP2 takes original formula and just makes everything better and more grand.

Does NOT include FLAC files as advertised. Tracks are also shuffled and mismatch their titles when played in Steam due to naming scheme chosen.

Arnaud, you deserve better.

An awesome addition to ENDLESS universe. Visual presentation is top notch, music from Arnaud Roy (FlyByNo) is unique and haunting as always, witty humor of writers is present, TONS of ENDLESS' lore to explore.

Note that this game is spiritual successor to Dungeon of the Endless, so it's not a substitute or continuation, but rather similar thing yet different enough not to be called a sequel. As such, don't expect your favorite thing from DotE to be necessarily present in TED and that is fine. Game has other new cool things for wich it should be judged, like amazing Saloon hub or ocasional level vistas, hero quests, even timed waves that I utterly hated in closed alpha were improved and streamlined to the state that I actually like them now.

Hero count is low and rougelite variety isn't very high, but I expect it to be increased with DLCs, so for initial release there are sufficient things to try, unlock and encounter.

Oh, and there is now my favorite addition to ENDLESS games which is Cartie: single most adorable sweet maniac precious thing ever!

It feels like devs never played a video game in their life, controls are horrible.
Visuals aren't impressive either, should I've been awed from Nanite polycount at all detail levels? Instead I was bothered by bad artificial depth of field and visible texture streaming UE3-style. Was I supposed to be wonderstruck by Lumen? Lack of proper ambient occlusion, offscrean non-cubemap reflections and so on made everything feel CGI, proper raytracing gives better quality. Nothing I've seen here can't be achieved on UE4, and with better resource management at that. Engine can be very dev-friendly, but it doesn't automatically makes best presentation for player, and this "demo" proves it.

It all starts with a dead girl...

Medium is the most ambitious creation for a small independent developer. Probably so ambitious, it could almost eat and wear them off, like insatiable maw. Not everything here is perfect. Performance can tank incredibly hard without any apparent complexity in the scene, yet scenery can be beautiful and photorealistic at times. Stuttering can irritate, but gameplay is forgiving for it. There might be lack of game mechanics, but that doesn't wave away interest and keeps the pace of moving forward. Camera can be restrictive, yet Silent Hill taught me it's the best tool for telling story, to let feel alternate world and make unforgettable player experience. Animations are stiff, but camerawork make you ignore that. Walkthrough is linear, yet it leads to the most open ending.

What makes the good game great are things that developers nailed down. Art direction is top notch, alternative world looks and feels as it should in horror. Music is eerie and evokes emotions from melancholy to terror. Display of parallel world is fresh and to a degree technologically impressive. Story stars intriguing, keeps your interest through cleverly hidden turnarounds, always hiding that last piece of story puzzle from you, and ends as a personal tragedy. Characters are well designed and feel alive. As true labor of love, they come dear to the player and make you care.

It all starts with a dead girl...

... but it don't have to end with one.

Thank you, Bloober, for this story, and I hope Marianne's tale will continue.
