Review Showcase
44 Hours played
Well I don't usually write formal reviews if this can even be considered formal, but I am one edible in so why not. Also this is my first long review so take what I say with a grain of salt and a dash of outward stupidity

To begin and TL;DR, I will say right from the start that I LOVED this game. It comes off a bit strong probably because it scratched an itch that I had for rpg/hack and slash style like DMC. The sword and small gun play just got to me in a perfect way. Overall I would say play it.

The Pros

The Combat system: It was simple and straightforward. The combos could be learned in time and you eventually find something that just works for you. Dodging is your friend and never neglect that. I found the controls to also be very responsive, making everything flow smoothly, but maybe this is subjective to me.

Weapons: The variety is suitable for anyone. A mix of heavy/light swords, spears and fist type weapons. (Personally I preferred a spear/light sword combo)

Story/Lore: I personally loved it, being able to experience it the way you can is just awesome and the lore left me wanting more. Originally I didn't realize that this was a series, but having found out I dived in to figure everything out I could because the game just left me wanting more. I can also appreciate the fact that there were so many references to philosophers. Being a fan of philosophy on its own, just made seeing their names made me more interested in the lore of the game, but I can see how that isn't appealing to everyone.

Characters: Now I loved A2, 2B and 9S a lot and I always will, they were not 100% original, but they fit their story correctly and helped the story move forward at a pace that did not seem forced. Also DAT ASS THO

Music: Now for the music. I loved the soundtrack for this game, whether in combat or just wandering and visiting the hubs. From what I remember, All the locations had different soundtracks and I don't think I hated a single one. Also the 8-bit tune that would continue the song when hacking was perfect. The music overall just added a nice touch and kept the running back in forth at least a little entertaining.

Cons

The Bad Guys: Now there was quite the variety when it came to the robots you fought. However, I found their differences lacking as it didn't make a huge difference in how you took care of them. Fighting them can get kind of stale especially when you gotta farm materials for weapon upgrades.

The Boss Battles: There was a few bosses, but I found in some cases that this got a bit repetitive. Going off memory alone, I think I fought the same Boss with a slight change 3-4 times. The most interesting one was when fighting the boys, but the robots battles are just stale. Android fights ftw

THE UNSATISFIED URGE OF WANTING MORE: More plz

Well thats it, I think its short and sweet in a more drawn out sense. I really do recommend this game for anyone looking for a hack and slash rpg. The open world has quite a few sights to see so go check it out. Exploring is your friend and remember that. Don't regret taking that detour mang. Also keep in mind to NEVER GIVE UP! I believe in your resilience.
