Early Access Review
Horribly Balanced Gameplay. Core gameplay is pretty decent and is fresh for the first 10-20 hours just like any new rogue-like. However there is unbelievable lack of power balance and progression loop development which is surprising given how many CBT's there were.

  • Blueprint farming is such a RNG drag and only spawns after the 3rd level. This makes playing the game after the first clear a super boring 30 minute session.
  • Psionic damage is so worthless in this game. The damage and stun are both next to nothing. For the one enemy that requires psionic damage, we either skip him entirely or use scalpel's special ability. Everyone should only be running physical damage augments with lone ranger, bloodshot, and oneway as anything less will not allow you to clear the final boss
  • Skirmishers are too overtuned as an enemy, They are too tanky for how much damage they can do, how fast they are, and how low their jump cooldown is. The run just instantly ends if you roll the purple goop stage in containment.
  • base movement is too low, Need to run jogging team for 30% movespeed to avoid getting hit in swarm mode and large groups.
  • Game needs scaling for 1 and 2 player lobbies, Jungsoo telling me to ♥♥♥♥ off unless I have 2 friends on seems kinda lame.
  • Disgusting targeting system for utility and tactical items, seems imported from a gamecube game. Too slow and too clunk. Skirmishers spawn on top of me ---------> I'm about to die in 0.5 seconds so I need a grenade ------> Enter GPS coordinates for throw/lab ------> Too slow (lob grenades hit yourself)

Overall, game feels like a minigame inside another game. Definitely needs some work and honestly I cant be too mad since It's truly what you'd expect from $10.

Game is fun for maybe first 5-10 hours when you first discover all the new heroes and are messing around for different compositions for the first time. Horrible progression loop after that

- There is no incentive to raise current players from the ground up. Better to just fire and re-hire than train
- Mandatory no speedup or skip cutscene; watching every single battle becomes quickly repetitive
- The playing seasons last way too long; you're stuck with you current losing team with what seems like forever until you can finally be re-released to recruit new players; awful game design
- There is no concept of simulation, management, or strategy in this game. You simply remember that X hero is countered by Y hero and that's all you do every single time.
- Equipment and stats are so poorly done that they have absolutely no bearing on the outcome of the match
- The cost and resource scaling for upgrades has no logical progression and seems to be made through random numbers
- Talents and traits are again worthless to raise from the ground up; simply keep firing and hiring until you find a desirable player. Do not bother showing loyalty or training someone that you started with; this is what they should have done with the dev team

This game is so bad but I already played too much to refund. 1 Year later and still no fixes to the awful game play progression loop.
