2 years after release I'm ready to recommend this. Its probably the most unique of the paradox 4x games and more of a sim than a game at times. That said the gameplay loop is interesting and there is a lot to explore here now.

Can only recommend this if you are both a fan of Dan Carlin and have a decent VR set up. It is definitely worth $5 and I would describe it as like a Battlefield 1 VR Tech Demo that is narrated by Dan Carlin.

This game actually makes playing online fun. The netcode is excellent, pings are visible to everyone, and you can create lobbies looking for people in your region. Instead of enduring terrible match making and beyond-playable-lag this game actually makes me want to spend an evening playing some online matches. This fact alone sets this game head and shoulders above it competition.


Also the characters are silly
