When it comes to releases from the last few years, most of it being absolute garbage, the titles I've been enjoying oddly enough are indies, remakes and remasters, just older games in general. Games like Resident Evil 2 and 4, Dead Space, and now the System Shock Remake. And I've gotta say after playing through it twice its been one of my favourites as of late. This game honestly really surprised me being in a genre I have a love-hate relationship with, that being the Immersive Simulator genre. Yet this game just clicked and pulled me right in. While it is a remake, as far as I know it's only a huge HUGE graphical overhaul. The gameplay is pretty much kept intact. It very much is a clunky FPS game that can be pretty hard at times, and that isn't even the most difficult part. What will absolutely rip your balls off (assuming you have any) is the fact that you have no objective markers pointing you in the right direction and instead having to read audio logs to understand what to do. It's a little hard to recommend this game because it is so old school and archaic, but in my opinion it is not a bad thing that these gameplay aspects are like this. Hell it's like they are intentional and almost extremely faithful to the original 1994 game that was way ahead of its time. I do recommend it as someone who really enjoyed their time with this remake and got all the achievements for, just know what you're getting into is not here to hold your hand. I may not be a dude, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Playing this gave me so much intense testosterone, even more so than playing Doom Eternal and Quake 2. Hell, probably more than reading the Berserk manga

I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077 ever since launch, and I did like it. BUT, I did not and am still not defending the absolute disaster that was this game's launch. Sure it was playable for me and the worst to happen was the bugs and glitches, but people who were on certain consoles couldn't even play the game. A shame too because I thought underneath the issues was a universe worth sinking my lore teeth into and a story worth experiencing. Well, I'm surprised that CD Projekt Red pulled their punches and stuck to fixing and making the game that was supposed to be. And alas, we now have Phantom Liberty and the free Update 2.1. It is very much now a game worth playing and it shows how much I love this game considering the amount of time I've spent with this universe now. Just know this; Is it bug free? Absolutely not. Is there still performance issues? Yup.

Cringe jokes aside, this is a really great remake that I think takes an already great experience and makes it so much better with lots of great story and combat changes. Granted not everything is buttery smooth like with the studdering despite getting high frames all the time, menu and ui bugs, and some changes I'm not a fan of. And no, I'm not referring to those "woke changes". I simply do not care about those.
