You know, I always heard people say in some debates about media how "4Chan can make something better" and I usually just dismiss it as a meme. After having experienced all of Katawa Shoujo though, I understand why it's a point brought up. Katawa Shoujo is an absolutely amazing visual novel that managed to make me feel and be surprised, not only because this comes from or rather was conceived from 4Chan, but also being completely free for how much VN this is and the quality of it all too.

10000/10 it gave me crippling depression

This game is a dream come true and is the Indiana Jones game I've wanted my whole life. I had so many concerns for this game coming up to it's release and while it may not have popped off in terms of sales, it is still very good. Probably one of the most faithful recreations for a movie series in video game form, although great circle is it's own story.

Rarely do games including even horror make me feel deeply disturbed after playing, and that is a feat that Mouthwashing has managed to pull off. Which is in no way to insult the game, it's a compliment to the game's quality narrative. Something that seems lacking in many games today. Highly recommend this if you're super into indie horror.

In all fairness, I don’t think The Answer, A.K.A Episode Aigis is terrible story-wise. But playing it is the worst thing ever. It’s just a non-stop grindfest and it takes way too long for anything meaningful to happen that I could’ve been better off just watching the cutscenes if it weren’t for the extra achievements included. Cherry on top is that it can’t be bought separately making it way more expensive than it needed to be.

I very much remember fondly watching people on YouTube play through these games, and it was a treat to come back and play it myself for the achievement hunt. So much character and easter eggs with the only lame one being the FNAF cameo personally, only because of my negative bias to that series

Ok, I’m not going to beat around the bush, is Silent Hill 2 in of itself a good game? Yes, I believe so. In fact, a friend of mine who is a huge fan of the original game says that this remake is an extremely faithful recreation. However, I cannot in any good faith recommend this game right now for the state that it’s in. Very poor optimization, constant frame dips, and crashing every time I so much as load a previous save. Considering the price here in Canada is $94 CDN, even more with HST rounding it up to more than $100 CDN, it is unacceptable that this was approved for release, even for someone who was gifted it to. I understand that they’re working on patches and hotfixes for the game, but it should’ve been released in a finished state. I would’ve been fine if the game was outright delayed to rough around the edges, I got plenty of material in my backlog to go through.

It is very hard for me to recommend this game because it's very rough around the edges, and I've had my fair share of my own problems. At the same time? Space Marine 2 is a breath of fresh air in the modern industry. A game that respects it's source material and it's audience, where so many other games or even IPs in TV and movies straight up butcher the material to promote some stupid DEI narrative and lecture in politics. I love how a modern AAA game in 2024 is not afraid to be peak masculinity and not cater to sensitive men and the LGBTQ crowd. The best part is just that it feels like a throwback to the golden generation of the Xbox 360, an era that's sadly long gone it seems.

It's short and sweet, and it's a pretty cool liminal experience.
