The game is fun, and I think it has the ability to be a great game. The reason I don't recommend the game is due to the price tag and due to how much content there is.

There is no story. The character you pick has no impact on story. There are no cutscenes, so really the characters you play literally do not matter other than for minor skills they bring to the table.
There is no replayability. It IS fun, but because every round is the same as last round with little bits of RNG, there isn't much point on starting over.

Weapon durability is way too low. When I need to go through 5 different weapons or more on a single stage because all of my weapons broke due to stealth kills, it's too much.

Stealth relies too much on luck. You can't see very far, which makes sense. But there are open windows / doors, etc where a zombie can be looking right at you and make it see you too easily. In fact, sometimes the placement of zombies leave them looking in your direction and they don't move, so it's impossible to sneak up behind them. Really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when this is in the front room of a building and there's a whole bunch of zombies in that room.

Dodging also sucks.

What I'd like to see:

1. A story, or at least character cutscenes. I want to see the characters interact with each other in cutscenes, I want them to have personalities. Give me a guy named Francis who hates stairs. Make me interested in the characters.

2. Some sort of progression allowing me to continue replaying with a goal. Like give me an xp bar. Everytime I beat the game / die, fill that xp bar and let me spend points on stuff like +1% weapon durability, dodge distance, etc. This alone would improve replayability for me and give me an actual goal to keep replaying.

3. Character specific abilities. The current character abilities, while they aren't bad, are too generic. So I end up using the characters for almost the same things unless I have a character that specializes in something specific. What I'd like to see is characters who specialize in something more worthwhile.

A character who can lock pick every door without bringing a tool / has to bring a tool but they don't break it. Or they just have a 50% chance to not break it.

Give me another character that can see enemy outlines through walls in a certain radius.
Bonus points if you can add some sort of progression system to those players.

4. Multiplayer is definitely doable in this game and could be a lot of fun. I'd really like to see that, but I doubt it will happen.

5. A roguelike mode could be pretty fun too, but wouldn't really be possible until the progression system I mentioned above gets added.

Overall I think the game has a ton of potential and is fun, but I think the price is way too high at the moment.

Protip: When exploring an area, stash all your valuables near the entrance for easy retrieval later.

The gameplay in AI Limit is honestly a blast. The parry system is completely overpowered in the early game but that just made it that much more satisfying when you pulled it off.

There are tons of abilities and it's very much a Code Vein successor rather than a soulslike. As a fan of both, I'm happy with it.

The story leaves a lot to be desired. Actually I thought the story was only mid. You can tell they were aiming for that vague, cryptic FromSoft storytelling style, but it just doesn’t land the same. Dark Souls feels deep even when you're filling in the blanks yourself—AI Limit feels like it wanted that same effect but didn’t quite pull it off. It's not bad, just forgettable.

The atmosphere and environments were enjoyable. The levels were pretty small, but it had a decent amount of exploration. In my first playthrough without looking at any guides, I only missed 1 blader and 1 NPC event (I was supposed to go back to a previous branch after unlocking an elevator).

There were multiple bugs. Against one boss after getting a stab on it, during the stab animation I fell through the ground and died in the abyss under the map.
In a subway area, I jumped into a wall trying to take a shortcut. I got stuck in that wall and sat there for a couple minutes until the game decided to kill me.
After killing a boss, I received its nucleus (Which you trade for weapons or spells). However when I attempted to trade it, it turned into the nucleus for an enemy I already killed. I'm not sure how that happened but the spell I missed out on was this really cool necro ability that shot 5 beams. (I did end up getting it, but I had to figure out how to use cheat engine and purchase the nucleus at a shop).

Even with the mostly minor bugs, I think this game was worth the price. Overall I enjoyed it.

I wish there was a middle option, because I neither recommend this game, nor do I recommend against this game.

It's not bad. It looks good. It's a little buggy, such as the werewolf thing killing you if it clips through a locker you're hiding in. The monsters weren't really scary, more silly than anything but I don't think that's cause the dev did anything wrong.

There's not a lot of monsters, but what is there is pretty cool.
The biggest thing though was beating the game this week (january 2025) to see a screen pop-up saying there will be an update in 11/2024.
Bit late there.

Overall though, the game was pretty neat. It's just that when you beat it, there's nothing else to do, and no real reason to want to play again.

I love stealth games.
This is not a stealth game.

This is a "don't push buttons too fast" game. The enemy always knows where you are. You can stand perfectly still and they'll still walk directly toward you. If at any point you make enough noise, you'll be killed. You cannot run and hide, you cannot throw a bottle to lure them in a different direction, you're not sneaking away from monsters. You're sneaking and avoiding making noise otherwise you're instantly dead. The monsters are simply decoration.

There are annoying things like an item I can grab on this shelf. It's within reach, but I can't grab it. I can set a box in front of it, but can't climb the box. Nope, I need to take a long round-about to get to it.

It's clear the devs put a lot of work into it, the monster model looks great, but overall the game just isn't fun, the story isn't all that interesting. I'm just getting kinda bored.

I neither enjoyed nor disliked this game. It was just kinda eh.

I'll potentially change my review later, but right now it just doesn't feel right.

First, like others have said, it's a Hollow Knight clone. I don't mind that personally, I play all kinds of souls-like games. But this game feels like it doesn't want to stand out, it prefers to hide in Hollow Knights shadow. As far as I could tell, there was no originality to it. The only thing that is any different from hollow knight is the parry mechanic. I love games with parry mechanics, but sadly the parry mechanic in this game is very high risk for very low reward.

Pulling off a parry isn't difficult against most enemies, even the mushroom boss attempts to fake you out but you can figure out how to parry him pretty quick and easy. The parry delay is a mild-nuisance but possibly intentional. But worst of all, if you DO parry a boss, the boss suffers no stagger. So your reward for parrying a boss is...to take another hit. And it's not like Nine Sols or Sekiro where you have to keep parrying until there's an opening. You parry once and then there's a delay so you can't parry again. So you either counter attack and get hit, or don't counter attack and get hit. So literally the only thing that sets it apart from Hollow Knight is not great.

Then there's the games currency. Little floaty green orbs pop out of dead bodies and you have to chase them down. They don't just slowly float a couple feet away, they quickly float very far away, through walls, and into inaccessible portions of the map. Like a deep black area seperating walls.

Can you equip a medallion that lets you auto-collect the orbs? Yes, but it wastes a slot (or whatever the equivalent is). Which sucks because it feels mandatory. The game is a little easier than Hollow Knight, it's just as beautiful but it feels like they were looking over hollow knights shoulder while drawing everything. Again, not a bad thing necessarily, as long as they do something to stand out.

Oh and the script is terrible. I'm not sure if it's bad translation or if they're intentionally trying to be cryptic and vague, but it just comes off like they weren't really sure what they were going for with the characters lines.

I'll come back and try this again later, but first impressions aren't too great so far.

Love this game. There isn't much to make it stand out, but I'm a sucker for tragedies and the gameplay is kinda fun. Not that the game is difficult by any means, but I do kinda wish there was a way to progress with some permanent upgrades. It's kind of a rogeulike game which is pretty neat.

Requires an epic games login. Fine, I'm not happy about it but I already have an account.

However, apparently they can't figure out their epic / steam crossplay. So everytime I log in, I can see my friends list on epic games from within the game, but then starship troopers tells me that I'm not logged into Epic Games.

I have yet to actually play this game due to this.

I tried several fixes, since apparently this issue has been going on since January 2023, 1.5 years ago, there are multiple threads on this issue. With some resolutions that worked for some people but not others. Unfortunately, I am one of those others.

The main reason for my bad review is because after contacting support via their website as I was directed by steam, they have not responded to me for several days now.

So is it a good game? Who knows.
But the team supporting it isn't, since my issue is not new and I can't find any solid solutions or get a response from the team.

I'll be returning this game.

Short but great. It wasn't hard. More of a movie than a game. A little bit of stealth and mostly platforming but overall it was just story (Which I am a fan of, so no complaints here).

The voice acting was amazing.

There were a few minor bugs and there were a couple scenes where you don't really get a warning for the QTE before you already failed them.

I wouldn't say the gameplay was anything special, but if you're interested in a 5 hour horror movie (which I'd argue wasn't very scary, but great all the same), then this is a great game to play.

The only thing I was a bit disappointed in was a certain "villain" death scene was very anti-climactic.
In fact, the only reason I even knew it was dead was because of the achievement that popped up.

I've played for 49 hours and got all of the endings including delicate flower (except the mushroom one). Hell yes I recommend it.

I absolutely love this game. It's like left 4 dead 2 but with extra mechanics. The lack of campaign pvp is disappointing, but the game is still super fun coop.

It had a very very rough launch but it's been improved to the point of being exactly what I want from left 4 dead sequel.

The only thing is missing at this point is mod capabilities so you can make custom game modes.

My game glitched and somehow gave us unlimited copper in no hope difficulty and that is some of the most fun I've had with the game.
