MAKE IT FREE TO PLAY OR IT WILL BE DEAD FOREVER. If money is the issue, just release skins or something and give original players some exclusive cosmetics for buying the game.

Game was great when it was alive years ago.

Great game, addicting, lots of gun customization/tinkering, and plenty of skins they give away through just playing and finishing missions over time.
Premium battlepass is affordable at only $5-ish with different options depending on what gamemode(s) you play most.

To those that are complaining about dying:
Warfare mode - Skill issue
Operations mode - Use better gear/ammo + utilize your abilities
**This game has a huge learning curve, not only including your own gaming skills but also game knowledge

On the topic of hackers, it's likely that you just probably suck (except the Chinese usernames, I don't trust them, region lock them out of NA). Like I said, there's a HUGE learning curve so you will die a lot. There's also the recon class that has abilities to reveal where you are. Keep that in mind and don't jump to conclusions. The devs have also started posting about their ban waves against hackers, giving them 10 year or permanent bans.

To those complaining about the anti-cheat, all the issues got resolved in 2024. Don't know what you're talking about. It doesn't run when I'm not running the game.

To those complaining about slow loading issues, put it on your SSD/M.2, not your HDD.

First off, on the bright side, all characters are unlocked and free to use right at the start. Also, I hear that the battlepass(es) will be accessible still after they retire, which I wish we could see from more games nowadays.

However...

Doesn't play well on CPUs older than the recommended I suspect. Seems like my older intel gen 8 CPU is at 97% trying to play this game. My RTX 2080 gpu is running fine, but it seems this game is HEAVY on cpu, like most games nowadays. I keep losing frames like crazy anytime someone ults and slightly less when someone is not ulting.

In addition, loading in takes minutes, which the game is almost halfway through by the time it's done. Apparently this can be helped via using an SSD, which sucks because I no longer have any space left for that.

Gameplay seems mid at best from streams and the few games I did manage to not lag too hard during. Hit reg is really weird and having your crosshair to the right of characters still hits their hitbox. I don't see this game ever going professionally competitive, but that's sort of what I expect with any superhero or movie based videogame: mostly for die-hard fans. I don't see anyone taking this game seriously past the next few months.

Long time Runescape fan since 2006, and let me say before I continue; I REALLY wanted to like this game, and I understand this isn't supposed to be the same as Runescape and it's in early access, however it isn't looking like it's heading in a good direction...

This game feels somewhat uninspired. It's like a long grind to more boring content instead of anything exciting.
The core gameplay is basically 50% collecting and 50% crafting, since the combat is boring and lacks much depth apart from different damage types. It's simply letting your character fight them automatically until one of you dies. I can only imagine how lame the boss fighting experience is going to be.

The game also feels a little bit like a mobile game the way the gameplay and UI is designed. In addition to that, there's too much extra clicking to accomplish stuff that should take 1 click, like fighting for example. Why do I need to click the enemy, click that I want to attack, and then click the weapon I want to use to attack. Just streamline the process and make it 1 click to attack them, since I usually use the weapon with the most damage anyway, and I'm not going to click on the enemy for any other reason than to fight them. The bows/archery in this is also quite useless the moment the enemy reaches you, and you only get a few arrows to use per fight anyway. The only thing I like about the fighting is that you get healed between every fight, because the enemies do hit you quit hard, and getting enough potions to have healed all that health would have been extremely time consuming.

I think it falls really flat with the world design as well. Since it's pieced together in like a DnD/puzzle format, it doesn't feel as open and seems kind of claustrophobic and small. Even after exploring every area of Hopeport, there wasn't anything that really caught my interest enough. 95% of areas in the first explorable area (Hopeport) basically gives you a foraging ingredient to collect, a fish to catch, and an enemy to fight. You move onto the next puzzle-piece connected area of Hopeport and it's just yet another few new things to collect or fight with a slightly different backdrop. That's literally it, that's the exploration. None of it is interesting, it's just slightly different. What I'm basically trying to say is, there's nothing there that brings a sense of wonder, intrigue, or feeling of being in a big world with story/lore, even with the quests which are slightly interesting at best but at least they're not all fetch quests like some MMORPGs. I understand there are other places in addition to Hopeport, but knowing how I feel playing this area alone, I can already tell it's just going to be copy-paste but with different skills and yet more of a boring, time-sink grind.. and trust me, I maxed out in Runescape and played many other MMORPGs, so I can sense when the grind is fun.

Another part that really sucks is the traveling in this game. There's only 1 teleport in Hopeport, which is the most out of the way teleport. It's only useful in very specific situations when you want to get to the Northern part of the map. I'd love for there to be a teleport that takes me to the Main Fountain, or the East Hopeport Gate, and so on. You have to click a lot to get to where you want to go. You can't click on the mini-map to auto path yourself there either. You have to click through every single puzzle-piece subdivision to get to where you want to go every time. It's exhausting and tedious, just like the grind. It doesn't help either that there's kind of a small limit to how far you can zoom out as well.

TL;DR:
Feels uninspired, basically collect and craft 80% of the time, boring fighting system, tedious clicking, map feels uninteresting, no lore or reasoning to things.

Still holds up as one of the better F2P team-based shooters on Steam. Plenty of free customization as well. Most fun with friends of course.

I can't find a SINGLE reason to speak negatively about this game, at most only suggestions. It's worth the $5, easily.

Dev adds stuff periodically, like QoL and neat little features.

Good game, play with friends, however it is quite a grind due to being an MMO.

This game has an interesting progression in which you unlock new abilities and become more powerful, which not only help you defeat enemies, but also solve new puzzles.

100% completion in roughly 5 hours, it's definitely not a long game.

Not worth the current full price of $20 though due to how short it is, get it on sale instead.
