A great successor to the Monkey Island series! The puzzles were great and just the right amount of challenge. The new animation style was a bit strange at first, but I grew to love it over the course of the game. If you're a fan of the previous Monkey Island games, you'll definitely want to check this one out.

Early Access Review
I purchased and played Deathgarden when it first hit Early Access, and I had fun playing it then, but I can see why the community just disappeared. The cosmetics and leveling system needed some serious reworking. It didn't feel like you progressed at all. The reboot has come a long way and has made some welcome changes. Right now, there are no additional cosmetics, except for some added ones for original owners. The leveling seems a bit more rewarding. The additional abilities are a little more streamlined. You have to complete certain goals to earn the right to purchase an upgrade, but earning these doesn't seem like too much of a grind. The game itself has also been a bit more simplified. Hunters just need to down a Scavenger and they can attempt to kill them. In the previous game, Hunters had to down a Scavenger and then set them on a sacrificial pyre. Other Scavengers then had the chance to try and save them. With the revamped version, Hunters can kill immediately, but Scavengers have the small chance to either revive them if they're close enough, or the downed Scavenger can crawl to a nearby health station and revive. Once revived, you have a second or two to evade the Hunter. The main goal of the Scavenger is to collect Blood, then bring it to one of 3 towers. When multiple Scavengers are within the circle of a blood totem, every Scavenger earns blood. When delivering blood to the towers, the more Scavengers that are present, the faster the delivery is. Once 125 blood has been delivered, the exits are available and you can attempt an escape. Matches are very fast-paced and fun! All in all, the reboot of Deathgarden is a welcome change, and I definitely recommend it; especially at the lowered price.

So I've played 20+ hours of this, mostly as the Survivor, and I love it! You'll see a few negative reviews because there's no "Survive With Friends" feature yet, but it is coming. As far as the gameplay, it's very tense and unpredictable. Also, there's no in-game chat between survivors. You never know if the survivors you're paired with will help you or leave you to die. I'm having a blast with this. I highly recommend this game! It's amazing now, and it will only get better!
