While the campaign is incredibly short for the standards set by the series, I'll definitely give the game credit that it surely didn't feel that way. It felt like one nonstop fight to survive at certain points and was genuinely terrifying at others. I feel it's definitely easier compared to other games in the series. There were times where I found myself simply running past all my worries, or I could clear out an entire area and still be relatively well off in health and ammo. This was on Hardcore mode, mind you, and while I still had plenty of deaths due to hiccups and poor decisions it still felt like there was a lack of challenge at time. These issues can be seen as major turn-offs for diehard fans of the series, but all in all I still had a blast playing through it. I recommend this game completely, but if a 4-6 hour campaign isn't your cup of tea then I'd wait for it to go on sale.

The combat is smooth, simple, and addicting. If you enjoy mindless hack-&-slash with cool intrigue in its story then I can't recommend this game enough
