I can kill horrors beyond comprehension with a live fish, a tiny samurai I keep in my backpack, and this gun I found, then go to my house I built with my bare hands and pet my photo-realistic anime cat.

I have been having a lot of fun with this game and, despite what everyone seems to believe, not had to buy a single dlc. They are all purchasable with in-game gold save for the soundtrack. You can get riftstones, wakestones, character edits, rift crystals, gaol keys, camp supplies, and even the harpy beacon from in game merchants, pawn quests, or exploring the world. And you get them pretty early at that.

There is only one save slot (same as DDDA) but the devs seem keen on updating that after feedback.

As for performance I have been able to get 49-80 fps, the lower end being in the cities, on my 5800x3d and 6800xt with FSR 3 and raytracing enabled. That being said, optimization is still clearly an issue, and I would recommend waiting for a patch. For those of you playing now, keep the VRAM usage lower than the max, which you should be able to see in graphics settings with a little bar, that should help it run a bit better. Lower character mesh settings down particularly. Also kill anything else that can be using your ram, like Google Chrome tabs and that sort of thing. This game uses a lot of it and that's because as of now it slams the cpu on account of the npcs. The devs are aware of this and have made a statement stating they're intending on patching it.

Early Access Review
When I first heard about this game, I didn't expect much. I honestly thought that this was going to be an absolute mess on launch, but the concept was fun.

Not only is it better optimized than most early access games I've played (the game only crashed once so far as of writing this, my computer handles it really well, and I have not noticed any significant stutters or framerate drops), but this game has consumed my life.

I spent so long on basebuilding to just to make sure my little fellas don't overwork themselves and get depressed. The map is massive and I love exploring it to find new things. And I even made time to decorate my house overlooking a beach (which I rarely invest in on survival games like this).

This game is way better than it has any right to be, and there's still more coming too which is incredible to me. Looking forward to seeing how far this game goes.

Early Access Review
I built a mech suit in order to go deep enough to access a CDC sort of ancient alien facility. I ended up in the territory of several reaper leviathans in my search, which are large enough to pick up and easily destroy the small submersible I used for transportation before my mech.

One picked up my mech. I did the natural thing and started punching its face with my powerful robo-arms. It swam away from me and didn't pursue me as I ran to safety. At that moment, I realized I overcame the primal ocean fears this game was giving me by punching a giant sea monster in the face in a mech and making it run away from me like a wuss.

10/10 Would live my life like Pacific Rim again.

I've played through the first episode so far, and I must say I'm interested in seeing where it goes from here. Graphically the game is very appealing, I only encountered one glitch involving a chair with a box around it, but it runs smoothly otherwise. The story is interesting enough to get me curious about where future episodes go. The only problem I had with it was that the dialogue was a bit choppy, but since the game was developed by a primarily Russian team, the mistakes are understandable. It had a very relaxing atmosphere, and so far, I like it.

The most totally normal game I have ever played, save for the fact a normal human father was being chased around by a chef.

This game is now by far one of my favorites. It looks great, is well written, and very addictive. I've played games with heavy descisions like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and I must say, this game's descisions have more weight than any game I've played before. I often found myself questioning how each descision I'd made would affect the future, and so far all of them seem important to how the story goes. And I mean all of them.

Please. I beg you. Get this game as soon as possible. Play it. Love it.

EDIT: I had to say something because Episode 4 will make you cry, then it will make you cry...and then you cry some more. This game makes you feel the weight that Max carries on her shoulders with the descisions she makes. And that makes it even more awesome because it puts you into her shoes flawlessly. When you make the wrong choice, you know you screwed up. And even if you make the right choice, it's usually not an easy one to make.

The game also continues to suprise you in ways that make it hard to predict, and make your heart stop to hit itself with an aluminum baseball bat. And when those moments happen, I honestly think "Life really is strange..."
