To start I did not think I was going to make this kind of a review for a game I was so pumped for. I really was excited for a new Dragon's Dogma game coming out. Originally played the first one on Xbox 360 when it first came out and the dlc later before they merged them as the full game. In fact I loved the first one so much I got it on here through steam to play on my pc since I am not on consoles so much anymore.

Before launch day of Dragon's Dogma 2, I went ahead and downloaded the character creator since I love creating characters. I decided to make my main pawn Guts from Berserk, because I just had too!
On launch day, I downloaded and started playing Dragon's Dogma 2. Finally!
As the game is going through the intro cut scenes, it was doing things I never expected. For one, the dialogue mismatched timing of mouths moving and what was being said. So a lot of delay and choppiness. At the time I didn't have my FPS on and showing, but usually I am at 50 to 60 FPS give or take. After the cut scenes and the initial intro of game play, and you get shot out of the sky, my character's movements were so lagged I almost died to goblins, and really couldn't play the game at all well. This would be an issue that would persist, even though settings were adjusted and even to the lowest. This is even though my pc can handle normally decent graphics. At this rate, I restarted my pc making sure it wasn't that and made sure my FPS was visible.
My FPS read mid 50s to 60s when in title menu, gaming loading in tanks to 30's to 40's. When out in the world it is 10's to 20's and when in town at the first camp you arrive at, the numbers greater than and to 3. I can not move at all easily in either in camp or outside of it. Unfortunately rendering Dragon's Dogma 2 not just unplayable, but really sadly not enjoyable too. I was truly so stoked for this game.

What I am hoping for is that they patch things and get this game better optimized so it is playable. At the current state, I do not recommend. However, I am hoping for when I can highly recommend, because I still believe, even with these current issues, it probably still is an absolute gem of a game! I can not wait to be able to play it once things are patched and what not!

this game does not even load keep getting a crash message...bummed cause i really would love to have actually played the game :(
