I'm rarely so moved with games these days, but Stray was simply... amazing. It's not the best game ever, it wasn't particularly exceptional at anything (though the storytelling is pretty fantastic, and unique,) but it does everything so well that it made it into my 'favorite games of all time' list, for sure.

I'm not kidding when I say it made me laugh, it made me cry, it even shocked me at times. There were good twists in the plot that I didn't immediately expect but may have lightly mused about the possibility of beforehand. The graphics and atmosphere kept me hooked. The gameplay was smooth and, at least in my experience, didn't have any glaring bugs or issues (and the devs released a surprisingly-speedy hotfix for some game-breaking bugs within a day, as well!)

Play time is relatively short, but for a game of this type, it sits right in the comfortable zone of a few hours that seems appropriate. My save file was at about 7.5 hours upon completing the story, and I definitely did my best to try and explore every nook and cranny of each area. There's an achievement for beating the game in 2 hours, so I'd say 2-8 hours should be expected, depending on how fast you wanna go through it.

Sorta spoiler-y parts: My biggest complaint is that everyone I got attached to got left behind :( That, and where are my feline companions from the prologue?! I need closure!

Long story short, I absolutely recommend this game. Although I'm not sure how much replayability there is in a story-driven game like this, and given it could be beaten by most in under 8 hours (and even less on a >1st playthrough) I'd feel a little more comfortable if the price was around $20 instead of 30. But I'm also cheap. On the flip side, I completely understand the effort it takes to put together a solid title like this, and the devs 100% earned it. So just factor in whether you think you'd rather wait for a steam sale or not - either way, I think most people will be happy with their purchase :]

This quote I read on reddit before I got the game is a very apt description of my feelings towards Fall Guys:

"The thing that makes fall guys stand out as a BR for me is how it de-emphasizes the investment in games, if that makes sense.

In Blackout, Fornite, Apex, Warzone, PUBG, etc. You have to spend 20 minutes looting and setting up and then hiding in a bush or trying to be aggressive only to either be sniped, outbuilt, or just ♥♥♥♥ up.

It's infuriating, it feels like you're wasting time.

But with fall guys, I don't feel that, by keeping the gamemodes random and short, it negates all of the above.

Add to that the earning of credits regardless how well you do, and more if you do better, and you have a winner.

The silly atmosphere and physics definitely help with easing the tension, and even when I get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with shizzy teammates on team games, another shot at the win is merely 10 minutes away."

This game is best enjoyed with friends! Still in Alpha development, updates seem to come weekly on Wednesdays, so this game is ever-evolving!
