you mean to tell me, that after trudging around this island for 45 hours, following countless dead end "main missions" i follow one mission into a bunker as i have plenty of times before, plant a bomb, light fuse, run away and roll credits? like what? not even gonna have a boss fight or anything? the "run away" part wasn't even timed, i could have crawled out and still survived.
the start on the archipelago seemed promising but once you're done there the story flatlines and the only the faintest pulse returns right before the credits.

all in all, gunplay is nice, ammo is plentiful, provided you ain't running around killing everything that locks eyes with you (though if you engage in crafting you probably could)
game runs well and is very pretty to look at, ran around 90+fps on a 2060 super at like 90% max settings ( i turned a couple things down a tad for stability)
only had one hard crash during the entire thing and i couldn't even replicate it so who knows what happened there

all up i'd give it a 7 out of 10. a more involved story would have really helped it

first off i'd like to say that i really did enjoy this game, i felt sadness and happiness at times.
though i will admit, i was very apprehensive at first about Klace as a character, i mean how can i not when the character shares their name with the developer, a blatant self insert character that you don't even need to own the game to see, that said i think it went well and i'd say that apprehensiveness was laid to rest once i got about half way through the game.
as for the other characters, i very much enjoyed them, to me they felt human, or at least human enough for me to get attached to them, felt genuine sadness when they opened up about their pasts and fear that they'd get hurt or caught. i think that the supplemental fragments are what really sold me on their believability
also, Zero is my favourite character, plain and simple

on a technical note, the game has 2 soundtracks, one vocal, one non-vocal
the non-vocal one is available on steam as DLC as per many other games
the vocal one however, due to developer drama, has been scrubbed from the internet, and even though the links to it are still up they all lead to 404s, leaving no legitimate way to acquire the vocal soundtrack (which really sucks because i like it)

overall i'd say its a solid 8/10 only really brought down by an ending that still leaves questions regarding the player's experience unanswered

Epic has torn down the games and tech that built their empire and replaced it with the fortnite mansion. they'd rather you spend your money on a skin in fortnite rather than a feature complete game who's weapon, level and game design. at worst, rivals fortnite, and at best, outshines it by a mile.

devs rushed the second half of the game so that they could go chasing trends with an open-world MMO looter shooter called "the day before".











endings are terrible too and don't explain anything either with the "good ending" for completing the side objectives resulting in at least one person getting roadkilled

great game, heaps of fun stacking ridiculous items and buffs on top of each other and wreaking the final boss.
the music is amazing as well, thanks to the dev allowing the soundtrack to be bought, i can listen to it everywhere
