I think the game is going to get better, similar to the original, but for now there are many major and small issues which makes it a not recommended for me in no particular order:

-Game and System Designs have not evolved since the first game.

-There are many bugs and glitches, which although are funny, they ruin the game immersion.

-The game feels less survival based than the previous one, there aren't other things to take care other than water and food (sleep is optional) when compared to the infections, athleticism, strength, etc, from the first game

-The new building system is amazing, but due to higher amount of materials needed (generally logs) and no way to carry more than the bare minimum (there are no sleds in the game) it becomes very tedious really fast, to the point where I do not feel like building due to the long distance I have to traverse to deliver 2 logs to my 220 logs house plan. Also I do not know if this is a bug or intended feature, but new trees do not spawn for me.

-The combat is very unbalanced, I started out of Hard and got 1 shot with armor on, then I moved on to Easy and got 2 shotted. This would normally not be a problem if the enemies had a similar HP to the player, but most enemies after day 20 take 10+ hits from the highest damage melee weapon in the game.

-The inventory is extremely annoying to navigate, because of the slow pan and the mouse being clunky while panning.

Overall, the game currently feels like The Forest 1.5 with modern graphics.

They tried creating a PvP Base Building game like Rust and ARK, but they also implemented the worst system in multiplayer RPGs - Stat Checks

On the server I was playing, I was one of the first people to reach the final tier of gear, while most of the server was a little bit over half-way through the game, and this is all thanks to one of the systems I will explain in a little bit. Most of the people on the server couldn't even scratch us in PvP unless they had similar gear to ours.

The experience of a new player who starts on an already existing server is one of the worst in any PvP Base Building Game. In order to even scratch a player that is at end-game you need to mindlessly grind for 30+ hours or be extremely lucky with your research while also running around for bosses all over the map.

Now let's talk a bit about research, which is in my opinion the worst system in the game:
In this game, when you kill NPCs, loot chests or destroy environmental decorations such as barrels, you will get papers (with tiers based on the map location) and books. The book is an instant unlock of a research, however if you already have it, you can dismantle it for an amount of paper (at each tier, 5 books = 1 RANDOM unlock). The bad part about this system is that the books drop EXTREMELY RARELY and it takes close to an hour of grinding to get enough paper for 1 random unlock, and the unlocks are NEEDED for progression and castle building.
However there is a "workaround" which is completely RNG based. In the T2 research, you can get the Paper Press, which allows you to make your own paper from materials. This was the first random research that me and my boys got, and it boosted us from early-mid game to end game, since we unlocked everything in a matter of hours.

Now think of what you've read so far, you have to do this every time you join another server, since gear, bosses, and research is server based.

The game itself is good and very fun to play, the only problem i have with it is that the fun is gated behind a few dozen hours of mindless grinding or extreme luck and bad systems. Unless you like to mindlessly grind for fun, or the devs make changes to the systems, I cannot recommend this game.

A very promising early access game. There might not be much content now, but the base of a very good indie game is already there.

The skill system is amazing and in-depth, allowing you to play in a lot of different styles. They all feel powerful but at the same time there's no "most powerful" skill, each one of them gives you different ways to achieve your play style.

The weapons are a great addition to the game and completely change the way you play- they can be a great addition to your build or they can be the build defining feature. Each one I found so far was completely different and unique from every other weapon.

The 3 classes the game offers are unique and offer completely different play styles and build customization.

However there are a few "problems" with the game, mainly content related, which make the game quite boring to play for a long time:

There's no enemy variety, fighting the same 6 monsters over and over gets boring quickly.

It takes too much time to level up a skill/class - if you want to play a new build or just change skills, you need to level those up from level 1, although it's a one time thing it still takes too much time, and it's also pretty hard to do because you need to use a low level spell that deals close to no damage, or a weapon that gives no stats.

Slorm Reapers (The weapons) are extremely rare and there's too many of them, meaning that if you want to make a specific build you have to grind a lot for them - this might become less of a chore once more enemies and layouts will be added.

There's no map variety, only 2 layouts each with a tile set.

I do not really care about the story, however as you can tell from other reviews - it's not that interesting, although it has a light comedic vibe to it.

Even with the lack of content in early access , it is worth the price in my opinion, and I am looking forward for updates as this might become a very good game in the future.
