I love this game, the setting, characters, story, vibes, music. It all feels nostalgic yet calming at the same time. Some issues with the game are the pop in of textures and sometimes the frame rate is a bit low, and it was a bit unclear about choices impacting relationships, but its a choice game. Also I don't understand the complaints about the ending. I thought it was a good but obvious plot twist, and it did leave me wanting more. Overall a great game and I'd recommend it, as I want to see this company make more stories like this.

Littlewood the Grind
Littlewood is a great game I thought when I first started playing this game. The first couple of hours (1-4), where the most fun I've ever had when playing this game. The gameplay was interesting, building and collecting materials were fun. I wondered whats next? Unfortunately I was met with disappointment. I've unlocked every single citizen so far, and am in my second year of the game for those wondering.

As I said at the start the first couple of hours are great, you get loads of buildings to place, collecting materials is fun, and most of all you get the ability to decorate your citizens houses! I had a load of fun with this feature. It was quite fun going into the general store each day to see if they the furniture you citizen wanted in their home, and meeting of requests, like 'I want my home at this height, or this close to something', allowed for creativity and problem solving. My second favourite part of the game was upgrading things, like the balloon thingy, and port city deluca, and the museum to unlock cool new additions was great.

Then the cracks started to show. I unlocked all the items in the general store, I finished the museum and I unlocked all the locations on the balloon thing. Now that raises a question. What now? After you do these things, there's only so much you can do, buy things, fish, mine, chop wood, cook, sell. At first this seems like a lot to do, but it gets really repetitive. Seriously! It starts with a story opening, now rebuild the town, you do a bit of that. Then thats kinda it. At the start NPC's give you blueprints and quests to do, but after that they don't. And you ask yourself, what do I do? I mean, you can grind and level up skills, but that gets tedious quick.

The next and last gripe is the environments and of the forests and the mines, and item variety. They're just the same thing over and over. After you unlock the next mine or forest, its just the same thing, may a bit of navigation variety but it ultimately looks that same. Which gives me my next gripe, item variety is LACKING! There are three types of forests and mines, but only three types of variety in wood, and ores.

Littlewood, a great game at the start, with poor long term enjoyment. I loved this game but it makes me sad that a game with such a strong start turns out so boring. :(

Early Access Review
In my opinion this game is not very good.

The from the gameplay trailers, the positive reviews, and the screenshots! I was sold. I paid full price, loaded it up. And was extremely disappointed with the experience I got. After like half an hour I was left unsatisfied with my experience. I haven't gotten past the part where you get Four residents to stay. I've got Two Buildings, the Store and the Museum, as well as the mine. To those curious as to where I am up to.

When playing farming games, I like to have a storyline of some sort, or loads of quests from NPC's to keep myself occupied. This game barely has any of these things. Yes. The game kinda has its own form of this, by asking the NPC's if they need anything. But I have one gripe with this system. Why is there a day time limit on them? It’s just unnecessary and stresses me out. Isn't the point of these types of games to be cosy? Do you know how freakin stressful it is trying to find a microscopic fly, by the end of the day?! And no Fletch, I can't find you a Blue Spot Flathead! I mean if there wasn't a day time limit maybe I could?! Moving on.

Another gripe I have with this game is that the gameplay gets really stale, extremely quick. In other words, the grind isn’t fun! In this game Money is your best friend. But the way you get money is really tedious! Mostly by gathering, fishing or bug catching. You collect the same shells, same Butterflies, maybe the same fish but who knows! After I've bought the blueprints, placed them, gotten the materials, and the building is built. It sure does feel like a chore to pay off your debt! As soon as go to that donation box to see how much in debt the town is in, I think man I want to quit. Especially when I placed the mine and found out I have to buy a Pass EACH, I'll repeat that, EACH time we want to go down. Why? Please explain why? Next point.

The NPC's. Never in a game have I met such dull, lifeless, and boring NPC's. For real! They just stand there all day every day, just in the same spot. Even when you speak to them it feels boring, they feel like Robots. Each time I interact with them, it feels like I'm opening the settings app on my PC. They feel like they were just created to be store clerks. Can they walk around the town? Do stuff in their free time? Have quests for us to complete that help us progress? Or give us something interesting to do? Nope. There is no personality, interests, hobbies, other than their job. They're just nice. They smile, they laugh, the wonder, they work, and THATS IT! Please can the NPCs be updated? Next point.

The attack system isn’t very good. Its very easy to be hurt and eventually killed by animals at least in my experience. I spear a Croc, and after three bites from it I’m dead! And I’ve lost crap! This gave me multiple headaches and migraines, I just gave up on it and decided not to try and attack things anymore lol. Now closing.

In conclusion the game is pretty bad. There was a clear effort, but it all falls flat. The gameplay is extremely repetitive, and boring. Honestly don't care even if this game is still in early access. Telling my friends not to buy this anymore, especially since I’ve heard that the multiplayer is mostly just visiting the Town instead of actually participating. I’m sure some people will say that it gets better after building most of the town, I actually kept playing thinking the same thing. But should I be forced to suffer though all that to get to some eventual enjoyment? Maybe if it was more of like an hour of boredom I would consider still playing, but I don't understand why this game has all this praise. I wish I could my money and time back. Maybe I'll come back to it sometimes but its really mediocre. The End.

This game bad, here's why. Like most of the Games in this genre, (E.g., Co-op Horror games) It was confusing, no clear direction. Even with a simple of objective, its still confusing. What am I supposed? Where do I go? How do I get there? How do I hide from the Lunch Lady. A tutorial would've been nice. In conclusion, bad game even on sale, worst $6 I've ever spent I've already sent a refund request.
