Definitely a great entry to the Ys series, I had loads of fun. But with every entry with major changes, it comes with a lot of flaws that need to be worked on. I didn't care for the ship combat, and I believe they butchered evading a bit too much with their heavy handed focus on guarding. On the other hand I greatly welcome the departure from the weapon triangle based party system. The duo system felt fluid and the updated skill system adds an incentive for varied skill usage. I can't wait to see how Falcom improves on these new systems in the games to come.

For the sake of my memories of the first 2 games, this game didn't happen.

Engaging story
A likeable and unique cast of characters
Satisfying combat system
A boatload of content that gives you a lot of bang for your buck with even more content coming
9/10 game, would recommend buying at full price.

There is a hell in the sky. 10/10
