Editing for The Steam Awards 2020.
Labor of Love Award, let's go!

I'll be honest here. I'm only writing this review for the Steam Awards.

Nothing I say here hasn't been said already. Most of the issues mentioned on the negative reviews on release day is already fixed. This is the first Monster Hunter game for PC and it aimed to be not too overwhelming for new players and not too shallow for veterans. Coming from Monster Hunter's PSP days, I'd say it did quite well at what it wanted to do.

The periodic style of tutorials as you go along the game is a great way to not bore you to death; and actually play the game as you learn. Monsters are also being introduced on each "level", if you wanna call it that, and with them a new combat mechanic.

For example:

Monster A is a braindead lizard, learn how to attack and other basic combat stuff.
Monster B can inflict poison status, learn how to use the antidote.
Monster C should be disabled when this and that, learn how to use objects.

Ah. This has gotten way too long for that Steam Awards badge. Y'all folks get the point. Happy hunting.
