Haven't been this excited for a game in a long time. Always been a dream to have a more realistic climbing climb and this achieved just that. It's the perfect blend of feeling like actual climbing, but then video gameifying it and having it be enjoyable but also hard. Can't wait for this!

Takes awhile to get into it and fully grasp the concept, but once you do this game is incredibly unique and fun. Can be super hard at times but you gotta think through the best way to navigate the situation, really adding a new layer to things. Definitely recommend!

I'm torn about this game. Overall, I recommend it because I think the recursive element is so cool looking and done really well in the game that it is worth playing, but there are some parts of the game I really didn't like. First and foremost is that Recursive Ruin is primarily not a puzzle game by any means. It is a narrative story game. While this is cool, I also found that it really took away from the main thing the game had going for it, which is extremely unique puzzles and cool visuals. When this game is good, it's really good, but besides from that it is boring and convoluted. About halfway through the game I found myself not able to sit through the uncomfortable dialogue (which you had to constantly click the character to hear since it would only play in little batches), and I stopped caring about the story. Maybe it all just went above my head but the story telling just felt messy and not needed. This game felt like it was trying to do so many things at once when really it should've just been a cool puzzle game with awesome visuals.

Overall, I am going to recommend this game because of how much I enjoyed the main world shifting mechanic, and the music. I just wish it was more puzzle focused and that the puzzles could've gotten harder. Still a really complete game as the McKinley's first official one, very excited to see what more they'll have in store.
