as a huge fan of Stars Die, and having had multiple very nice conversations with the dev, i was eagerly awaiting his next game, which he made sure to reiterate was nothing like Stars Die.

and he was right. Angels Bleeding is almost the antithesis of SD. whereas Stars Die took place on one sole island with an amazing specific art style, lots of worldbuilding and story to go along with the characters, Angels Bleeding plays with many different artistic style choices and what it may lack in the story department, which is to say, there's very little, it goes all in on the atmosphere side.

only things i can say i didn't much care for were the Lab level being a bit too clean and sleek and all over the place design wise. seemed like it could be mistaken for a bunch of unity assets.
the tower on the last level could have been a bit more stylish rather than being a half built wooden structure, and the fire on the last level seemed like another cheap unity asset that could have been integrated better.

if you want a continuation or carbon copy of what Stars Die was, you wont find it here.
if you want something dripping in atmosphere and intrigue, then give Angles Bleeding a chance.
