The First Descendant is a sci-fi co-op looter shooter with inspired elements from Warframe and Destiny 2. The modding system and the grind for gear is a lot more dumbed down than Warframe, which is a fresh change. NEXON has nailed it with the open world co-op matchmaking experience. Players can join other players that are already in a mission, no matter how far the mission has progressed, and still receive the same rewards at completion (take that, Warframe). This makes it better and faster at finding temporary squad mates to progress through the missions.

However, all good things must end. They say, it's the little things that annoy you most, and it could not be more true for The First Descendant.

AI and combat is atrocious. Enemy behaviour is overly aggressive and overtuned. They never miss their shots, no matter how fast you're zooming across the battlefield. It's like they know your exact moves. Furthermore, most of the missions lack cover where you can take their eyes off of you. Rolling does notning. It doesn't provide damage reduction/immunity. Oh, did I mention there is no shield-/health-gating? Meaning you can get one-shot just because they feel like it. There are no after-revive or spawn immunity, either. Meaning if you can get one-shot immediately after being revived. Playing from Oceania server, latency and lag works in wondrous ways. When there is a lag spike, instead of the enemies rubberbanding forwards, it's you rubberbanding backwards. Enemies hit you before they even spawn.

Do I recommend this game? No. Will I keep playing The First Descendant? Yes. But, why? Because it's more fun with friends. Difficulty scaling is non-existent (apart from intercept battles), all content is scaled to 2-players, meaning it can be a nightmare for solo players, and be a cakewalk with a full group.

There are a lot of improvements needed for the game, but I doubt the AI and combat part can be fixed.

Generation Zero is a great game. I really enjoy it. I find myself coming back to this game over a few years now.
Pros:
The scenery, the environment, the terrain, they're all very well done. Outside of combat, it is very calming. In combat, it can be very intense. The gunplay at the beginning was very boring, until you get experimental weapons, that's where the fun begins.
The story is awfully hilarious, having employed the classic Red Scare "The Russians are always the bad guys", almost like the existence of the Russians is a generational trauma for the Swedes. Well, you'd have to be a Western Media gobemouche to actually believe that.
The landing screen music is by far one of the soundtracks ever.
Cons:
A small annoying part of the game is the crashes. While crashes are a common "feature" in modern video games, this one's more annoying - it erases some of the progress you've made between your last save point and prior to crashing.
There isn't really much of an endgame, apart from farming the Titan. The procedural missions are often buggy. Assignments are fun additional tasks to do but their rewards are subpar.
I think there's also an over-dependence on inventory management - half the time I'm worrying about going overweight, and my stash is almost always near the weight limit.
The keybind customization is awfully restrictive. I have buttons on my mouse that I can't even utilize.

Overall, even with these minor setbacks, I still really enjoy this game. Highly recommend!

Early Access Review
I could not afford Diablo IV. Has an endgame. Unlike Diablo IV.

Forza Horizon 5 is a clear example of why having a huge map doesn't always mean it's a good thing. I have a lot of criticisms for the game, but for now, I will focus on the three main ones: map content, roads and handling model. I will also compare the game with FH4 and GTA 5 because I expected it to be better than its predecessor and older open world games.

The map is huge, but boring and empty. The desert biome is just sand and cacti. The jungle biome is just trees. The farmland biome is just crops. There is only one major city - Guanojuato - but even it is small. There are a few towns scattered along the coasts on both ends but they are uninteresting. There are hardly any landmarks worth visiting, apart from Copper Canyon and... well, I can't think of any. There is a giant volcano but it serves no purpose. There's also a stadium in the middle of the map, and it also serves no purpose other than Playground Games event. Even FH4 is more urbanized than this. Street races actually felt like street races, not some country road cruising. Details are severely lacking compared to GTA V. Now, you might say GTA is an open-world game, but so is FH5. You might say, Rockstar games has decades of experience in making open-world games, but GTA V was released in 2013, and FH5 was released a year short of FH's 10-year anniversary, and 9 years is plenty of time. Instead, what we got is an empty map.

Now, the roads. Boring as always. Virtually all of the roads are two-way single-laned, apart from the massive highway stretching from East to West, but even the highway looks like it was placed to satisfy players' requests as FH4 didn't really have one. Sharp corners are gone, and are replaced by long and excruciating bends. A typical road segment starts with a short straight, slight bend to the right, short straight, slight bend to the left, short straight and so on. Racing on roads like these felt extremely boring. It also looks like the roads were placed there before orogeny happened. Instead of roads that follow the contour of the terrain, sometimes you'll find them going over hills. The only road up the mountain feels like it was made for drifting.

Finally, the handling model. It drastically changed from FH4's. Cars are more drift-friendly now. You can drift with almost any car now, even with FWD cars. Responsiveness is very low.

I cannot recommend this game because of the lack of enough content to justify its price tag. If you value your money more, play FH4 instead.

I have never experienced a racing game made this poorly.
Tutorial (or License Test as it's called) takes ~30 minutes.
They introduced brake temp management, but other factors such as tyre wear, fuel management, engine modes aren't even there.
Is there force feedback? Yes. But only for brake management, and when going on kerbs. There's no whatsoever feedback when you're understeering or about to oversteer.
The AI is atrocious, worse than in any game I've played. On Professional difficulty, their qualifying times were 8 seconds per lap ahead of me, but during the race, they're 8 seconds a lap behind me. They are fast for no reason, brake way later than I am able to, it's like they just brake wherever they want.
Difficulty? None of that. No settings for traction control, stability control, ABS (in fact if you disable brake management ABS is turned on, hence no FFB) etc.

Easily 0/10

First 4 achievements are free. Then it's a $20 game.

Cute!

This game is pretty straightforward. Completion time is around 2 hours. No impossible or extremely repetitive achievements.
