A fun shmup reminiscent but distinctive of many arcade classics!

There's tons of upgrade and item variations so every single run feels and plays unique.
You can easily play multiple rounds and still come accross new items and tactics you have not seen before.

The enemy design is well done from more basic approaches to intricate boss designs and surprises here and there.

An additional big highlight is definitely the soundtrack!

Can definitely highly recommend :)

A worthy love letter to Tactical RPGs and Monster Tamer games!

The battle system is intuitive and not overly complicated, while still giving enough depth to truly strategize your position. Are you above or below an enemy? Do you have multiple units adjacent to your target? Which direction are you attacking from? Are there stage hazards? Everything matters in your decision making!

Fae Tactic's soundtrack is atmospheric and absolutely enjoyable. It helps underline the fantastical themes of the games without ever being boring or repetitive. Truly hoping for a vinyl release at some point *fingers crossed*

The character and monster design is also stunning. Lots of attention to detail in beautiful and high quality pixel art and the monster variation is amazing. When it comes to Monster Tamer games there's often dull designs or ones you not feel as much as others (which is totally normal and a preference thing), but for this title it happened multiple times where I have been like "I can NOT let that one slip away".

Overall if you are a fan of either genre I feel like you can get enough out of the game for you to have some good fun, but if you enjoy both of these genres you are straight up missing out on not giving it a chance!

I have a hate-love with survival games but man Memories of Mars got me hooked!
Nowadays it seems survival games are trying to differentiate themselves mainly by their different settings and lore and not expanding much further outside of that. Memories of Mars is different.

-The food and o2 meters (despite not reinventing the wheel) and the general cruelness of the landscape on Mars features a real threat of actual survival.

-The customization from equipment to guns to your outfit to your base is massive and is to be further expanded in the future by building vehicles from scratch.

-PvP feels very natural and not forced while still being incentivized with smooth and action packed combat with multiple real time events such as meteors striking the planet or special events to gain currency which is used for your skill trees (which are complex offering plenty to work with / different paths fitting your personal playstyle)

-Functionality for Multiplayer is great with the guild system, you see the names of the players displayed above their heads and where they are on the world map for easy and quick communication

The game is still in Early Access and yes that is still apparent within the game itself. I do feel that this game has massive potential though and if you are like me generally enjoying survival games but being on the fence about them, I highly recommend checking it out since it's been the first to blow my mind in a while.

Been following the game throughout pretty much all of the closed Alpha up to the Steam EA Launch now.

The game has been growing immensly in those few months and the development has been done in very close co-operation with the community to not just make a game the devs enjoy but alsso the PLAYERS end up enjyoing.

For it's early state the game is extremely polished and is a huge timesink already. The artstyle is fantastic and draws you in even though a lot unit art is still placeholder which will change quickly over time.

The thing that I love most about the game though is how passionate and hardworking the devs are and how tight knit they work together with the community.

This is reflected in feedback being taken seriously and into consideration, constant balancing, user-created card ideas being tested etc.

Can whole-heartedly recommend the game and this is just the start. So much more to come which I am more than excited looking forward to.
