I have entirely reconsidered my review of Garten of Banban after nearly a full year of this game being a thing that has existed, along with the other installments up to GOB7 at the time of me writing this.

I'm not going to say Garten of Banban is the best game ever made in human history seriously, nor am I going to say it as a joke, nor will I claim Garten of Banban is "ruining indie horror" and that I will "bring justice to the Euphoric Brothers for bringing war and famine and plague upon our once peaceful land of mascot horror".

I looked inside myself and I can forgive the game for not running on my PC. I can forgive the game for looking like it was made in 45 minutes. My review will still stay as negative, as I believe Garten of Banban is somewhat flawed and could use some improvements from a programming and design standpoint, but I think during the past year we all just kinda got caught up in this massive hate wave simply because everyone else was doing it.

In the words of Toby Fox, "Indie developers need all the support they can get". Being able to make something out of nothing is a very admirable talent, and though I still question the effort that went into this game, I don't have it in me to hate the Euphoric Brothers for wanting to tell a story in video game format. They've seemed to sort of embrace the meme-like status of the game in later installments, and that made me realize something else.

Games don't necessarily have to be "good" in order to be good.

Game development is supposed to be about having fun and expressing your ideas. Who am I to judge if these guys have fun making their game? Nobody's forcing me to look at Garten of Banban. Even now, it's being phased out by stuff like The Amazing Digital Circus and Skibidi Toilet.

I sort of went off on a tangent, but basically I think this game got overhated and I was blinded by that hate. I think the Euphoric Brothers could handle PR a bit better, but the game itself is okay I guess. I'm Jumbo Josh, brah.
