What an absolute rolercoaster of a game! No spoilers here, just buy it and try it!

The The frogs and duck require euthanasia but the rest of the game is fun with friends :)

TL;DR: Game is not "The Forest", same genre, great story, far more survival based.

Honestly expected this game to be a re-skin of The Forrest.

I will start with the negative... This game is NOT beginner friendly at all. There's a huge learning curve and I almost gave up on it after being forced to restart the campaign for the 3rd. This happened because I was brand new to the game, had no idea to save progress and virtually EVERYTHING was trying to kill me... Without googling answers or watching youtube tutorials I was finally able to figure most things out on my 4th attempt but got stuck in a death loop where I was dying to infections and fevers. This time I had to google for answers because I didn't have the timescale to figure out and find cures before dying. Once you've got the basic solutions for your problems, the game is quite easy....

The story is something I NEVER expected. I assumed this game would be survival oriented with an option to search the island for lore, trinkets and general backstory items... little did I know, I'd be taken on a whole journey through different aspects of the rain-forest with just enough variation to keep the environment fresh. The campaign at first felt generic and predictable but boy I was SO WRONG. Really enjoyed the main campaign, I'll be sure to go back and unlock some extra content I've missed as well as play the other modes available to me.

Have not played multiplayer yet but I'm looking forwards to it!

34 Hours and I've just finished the main story line. I was pretty aggressively chasing the quests too... I was not speed running the game by any means and I was also pursuing side quests, world quests etc...

To be honest the game is quite repetitive, grindy and overall slow, but just fast enough with a good enough story line to keep me gripped.

Worth the play, Not worth the original sale price of the game, wait for it to go on sale!

Super fun game to play with friends, either using the same PC or anywhere in the world... I'd stay away from online PVP matchmaking because the mechanics are quite easily abused and theres no honour/ground rules.

10/10 party game though!

127hrs marks my first playthrough. (a little AFK time here and there, and a couple hours spent loading back to previous saves) I can happily say I enjoyed every moment of gameplay. One of the BEST developed games on the market throughout all gaming history. This is certainly one for the books.

The only downside being, every game you play after this one will disappoint you, no games live up to the freedom and potential of Baldur's Gate 3.

If you're coming from deciet 1, be prepared for a gameplay overhaul.

Playing this for the first time was definitely uncomfortable, coming from the original Deceit game. After spending the first 5 games adjusting to the new mechanics and gameplay, I found myself able to experience Deceit for the first time again which was super enjoyable.

Deceit 1 --> Deceit 2: Some changes to be aware of (at time of review): No map progression, Unlockable items you can only buy with in-game currency **NOT P2W**, Only one map, Only one experiment(impostor), not a lot of cosmetic options at all.

I hope for future updates they add maps with stage-like map progression, I personally was a big fan of the original system they used: Doors open, all players must run to the new play-zone or die in the old area.

There's quite a lot of kinks to iron out still, this is forgivable though as it's only the second day after release and the team appear to be working around the clock to push hot fixes and updates for the playerbase.

W devs, very active and responsive! I love how human this company is, this seems to be a passion project of theirs rather than a job. It's nice to see a game untainted with battle passes, P2W options or experiences locked behind paywalls. Keep up the good work team.

PS. A lot of negative reviews are coming from Ex-Deceit players who expected an upgraded version of the free predecessor. The truth is, this is a completely new game wearing the same clothes. It's not what people expected which is NOT bad, it just means that anyone entering this game with a past experience of Deceit will require some re-adjusting. Please go into this game with an open mind as it can be VERY enjoyable once you've got the mechanics down.
