The amount of times the game gave me a popup for connecting to server combined with the long 5-15 second freezes that happen after picking up a skill book make it very unfun to play when you expect these types of games to be all gas no brakes. It's also got the very apparent trappings of a mobile game with gacha draw heroes, weapons, and armor and a base upgrade system. I don't know how generous the definite micro transactions this game is going to have will be or how much the game is going to want to push you towards those, but the pauses in the game play won't have me sticking around to find out.

tl;dr Buy this game right now, then buy 3 of your friends a copy of this game, then come back and like this review.

That out of the way: I ran into a monster that only I could see and made my friends think I was crazy which almost gaslit me into thinking I was crazy. When they saw my body explode in a cloud of viscera and crew bits, they realized I wasn't THAT crazy. This is one of MANY, MANY, M A N Y deaths you can experience in this game.

I've been exploded, suffocated, coiled, eaten, beaten, and pulped and I think about going back into the terrible awful miserable moons the entire time I'm at work just to see how much more scrap I can get for upgrading the ship until we miss quota and get fired. Into space.

Add that one to the death list.

That being said it's all worth it to install a sweet new TV, put on a new suit, or pull the LOUD HORN cord. I've put in 8.2 hours in the span of a few days and if I could make my friends have less responsibilities I could have way more but there's no way I'm going to one of these moons without a buddy system.

This is an 11/10 game with a 10 dollar price tag that could give me months of fun so the thought of it being early access and knowing there's gonna be more content and new dumb ways to die has me more excited than pretty much any game this year has made me which is saying a lot with how stacked the potential GOTYs have been.
