If I am not mistaken, 5 years ago (+/- 1 day, I'm unsure about that) it has been the moment you passed away, Shirl. We all miss you tremendously. And this comment want to be a memento for the kind of person you have been. Help us from the above in this hard and difficult year 2020 we're passing without you.

This guy traded me my first Unusual years ago, he was so nice with me and waited as my items came available to trade. I had no idea he had passed until just now. I am deeply shocked and will never forget his acts of kindness towards me. In a world full of scammers and thieves he was truly a diamond in the rough. I can't believe this. I hope his kindness is rewarded wherever he is now. So so sad :'(

Dear Mike,

I have learned about your passing roughly a year ago, but I couldn't grasp that you really were gone. I suppose a year ago I was not ready to say this. As I am writing this, I feel deep remorse about not haven spoken to you when you were still here. The Wireplay server that you ran was my favourite community in any game in a very long time. You created a little online family when the server was online. While this group has not survived the sands of time, the memories persist. You will always be carried with us, living on in our memories.

When we haven't talked for one year, you one time suddenly out of the blue asked me if I felt like playing a game together with the old Wireplay group. I agreed that it had been too long, and that we should play one in the future. I will forever regret not playing with you in that very moment, and that I will never again.

I hope you rest peacefully. For your family and friends I have my deepest condolences.

I haven't contacted the person who used this very account for years. We used to play together on Wireplay.

I went by as Wolvestamer back then. I just noticed this man is apparently drceased. If that is the case, friends and family, please accept my condolences. This man ran my favourite TF2 server.

I know it isn't my business, but may I know what happened? I'm shocked.

I know I'm very late to the party on this one but just found out about Shirl passing away. Absolutely devasted, he was part of a group of 6 of us that used to play MvM together all the time and he was such a sweetheart, a generous man with a great sense of humour that added so much to myself and our friends. Gutted we won't be able to hang out again any time soon, but I know you'll be supporting us sniping those giants from your gaming rig in the sky. Miss you man <3 RIP

@James: last time I heard your father (1 year ago) he told me that he wasn't very active because someone in his family had a serious desease. I think it was his mother. But then I see all of these comments in this section, and realize something very dramatic happened to Shirl as well. Your father was one of the best person I met in Steam. It was an honour for me to find him years ago.

Can't believe you're gone. You was one of the most stubborn son ♥♥♥♥♥ with anything but I stood by you and hopefully influenced those in power to run the TF2 servers for Wireplay and beyond. Rest in peace my friend.
