Early Access Review
Game is rich in story, pretty fun and interesting.
Ashley is the usual hot goth girl and Andrew is the knowledge moral guy.
In terms of mechanics, game is not hard. Something else was.

I always say: Don't put D*** on crazys. I'm ready to not listen to me.
10/10 I can fix her.

This is my favourite game of all times. More than 25 000 hours playing this, to be ruined by the new engine update at launch. I felt that something was lost at the time: "How my favourite game now runs awful?". After 3 major updates, the game finally runs good in a GTX1060. Here's a list of what changed from the original (vanilla) if you use the new launcher, with their edits:
· You can't change the hud scaling. Edit: You can change the Hud Scale using the console: "scr_screenscale 2" in 1080p resolution looks like classic version.
· For some reason, in Nightmare difficulty you can't heal if you're above 50hp and using Big Health drops you tu 50 again. EDIT: Can't go higher than 50.
· Highest quality settings generates lag on a 1060 6gb, and looks worse than a lot of sourceports. Edit: Using Vulkan API, using console command "r_gpuCulling 0" seems to fix performance issues. So far so good in original campaign. Edit 2: Now works seamless after Update 3.
· Movement has been updated, now is ice everywhere. Edit: using console set "cl_backspeed" to 400. This fixes little of this problem. Edit 2: Patched backspeed.
· Nightmare enemies shoot slower (like Hard difficulty) instead of locking on. EDIT: Difficulty differs from max health than hard firing enemies.
All extra things added with edits are below:
· Played Online: Pretty fun but leader is decided randomly. That can create serious lag (won a match playing with 230ms)
· E1M6 (The door to Chthon) has a flaw: One of the paths should be blacked out. This new release has it illuminated at the other side, so the path is visible. It doesn't let you advance further (need of a silver runekey) but the trap below turns to be unuseful.
· The addition of Horde mode is amazing. Got myself pretty amused how good you should spend the powerups (they disappear pretty fast, so remember to pick'em fast) and your ammo. I played all maps by myself.

Those are some of the things I've found so far. If you buy it, you can use classic version or the new one. Addons have new worlds to discover and I'm expecting if Arcane Dimensions (search it, the most complete mod for Quake ever made) reaches this engine.
(Edit amount: 5 - Last update: Major Update 4 launch, review changed to recommended)

More songs, but still waiting for a V.K music pack (even if I know is impossible, but dreaming is free)

Pretty good game. A 6 keys rhythm game that is easy to play but very hard to master, if you really want to aim to All Charming (AC) in every song. Worth the buy, try to wait until sale to get all DLC (more songs, easier big tree) and have even more time in this.

5 whole years sitting in my library. Decided to give it a go.

What was I thinking back then? Why didn't play this masterpiece before? Ah, right. PC Specs.

This is a must play in every way. Get It. NOW.

Loaded my last save game, and another truck got stuck in mine, making it fly and bounce all over my recently maxed garage.

9/10, would ask for a loan to repair my truck again.

You'll love this game more if you prefered UT99 over 2004.

I recommend this game because it's Unreal.

Everytime I play it the less I, personally, like it. It has something that I don't really like, it's really different from UT99 and those added mechanics and replacements makes this a whole new UT, away from the original one:

1.- Assault rifle instead of an enforcer.
Don't get me wrong. I'm amazed that the first batch of weapons give this instead the regular pistol. Consider that is pretty inefficient, and the grenades are way too hard to get right.

2.- Double Domination instead the classic Domination.
This makes more frustrating the way it works. Could be a pretty fast game, or the longest you'll ever see.

3.- 14 years old's "New" modes: Onslaught and Bombing Run.
Bombing Run has the same problem as Double Domination. If both teams are good, the game turns into 3 hours straight of missing shots. Onslaught is very funny and interesting, better implemented in UT3.

4.- Dodgeball mechanichs and double jump.
This are pretty good, actually. If used right, you'll become harder to hit, even more than Osama Bin Laden.

5.- Ripper absence.
Let's be reallistic. Nobody used the Ripper.

6.- Modifications to the ladder:
This is strange. Second UT (counting 2003) that needs "money" to proceed in the tournament. That's not needed, but I like the way you create your team, instead of being all of the same race.

7.- No Impact Hammer.
That's right. Now you have a Shield generator with no major use. Ah, and the Redeemer is like a bigger version of this replacement.

8.- Sniper Rifle... changes.
Now every shot you make, some steam or smoke gets in front of your view. Campers are not allowed thanks to this.

If you never had played this game before, give it a shot (but seriously, who never played this game? is 14 years old), but if the only UT you've ever played was UT99, then get used to this strange new game.
