Hey!
The game is great, a bit pricey for such a short story, but still a good game.
What I disliked the most was the ending, but it is what it is. A bit predictable, if I have to say the least and it didn't quite make sense at the end, before the last cutscene. But okay-ish.

NO! NO! NO! NO!

Abstain yourself from this game, Fifa is a god-tier game compared to this.

- Keeps disconnecting for no reason (no, my connection is fine, the game just decides to say "connection lost");
- Apparently there is drive, that isn't a bug (since it was always there), where people basically teleport/warp the ball and the ball keeps in their possession;
- Already encountered a cheater here, the ball just teleports and the cheater was scoring without giving us a chance to defend (here is a small clip of one of the occasions: https://imgur.com/BpX9dVl ) and no, the person wasn't lagging, since everytime he passed the ball, the passes were just fine;
- Another "fun" thing, is, sometimes you tackle and the game even tells you that you did (you gain points when you do so), but the oppoent just keeps the ball like nothing ever happened;
- And many many many other issues, glitches, bugs and etc;
- Honestly, just don't play this... you will NOT have fun. I was one of the people that enjoyed the Beta and now I utterly regret ever have bought a key for this, such a waste of money.

Ps.: With each update, the game becomes worse, they just keep updating the store.

Cheers, have fun.

This is not a review.

This is a place where you can lay down your grave flowers and funeral sprays to the tombstone once beloved Rocksteady Studios.
Thank you for what you done and may your legacy will be never forgotten (Arkham Series).
Now you are truly may rest in peace.

Design-wise and character/skin-wise the game is amazing. The game is beautiful and has nice graphism, you can really see some nice views in there. It is somewhat open-world, where you go to a specific map and you go around that map/zone.

The gameplay is very very repetitive. Even League of Legends is somewhat more diversed than this game (yes, hard comparison, but it is true, at least in League of Legends you have two maps + a bonus/event going on that sometimes changes the map entirely with different enemies and champions/players). Everyone (mostly) is a Bunny (a character) in this game, maybe that is because she is "given" at the start of the game, when the game teaches you how to unlock/obtain a new character. Or maybe because she is sexualized with her Ultimate version, I was one of the "fools" that payed 100€ for this lmao

Missions are basically speak with this character, do 3 to 4 missions, which basically are defend or attack a certain point. Then you have another type that is to catch balls, which is very strange/weird.
Collossus (these are like boss only, you select and you go versus the boss) are different and they have somewhat different skills, which is nice. But if you want drops, you have to run dungeons first to drop a "coin" (let us call it that) so you have a chance to roll the item once you beat the boss, if you don't have this "coin" you cannot get any exclusive boss drops.

Dungeons are different, but with the same enemies and the bosses are basically the same, from my experience, you have two "main" bosses in each dungeon (I've done a few) and the fight feels exactly the same. So you take one bar of HP from the boss and they gain a invulnerability status, you either have to kill enemies they spawn linked to the boss or kill some flying balls that are linked to the boss, then you take another bar health from the boss and depending where you are, you repeat the process.

This game is often compared to Warframe and Destiny 2, because it is also a looter shooter. Fair game. I didn't played much of any of the both, but I've seen my friend spending thousands of hours into Warframe and you have a fair amount of variety in there, quoting his words "You have different enemies or enemy types everywhere, depending on the difficulty" and to be fair, I played a bit of Warframe and never felt like I feel playing The First Descendent, you had way more to do in Warframe when Warframe released than The First Descendent, specially after years of being out, I don't think this game will top Warframe in any capacity. Speaking a bit of Destiny 2, well, Destiny 2 was something... I played it when it was on Blizzard and then here again a bit. From the get go (when it came out) you had 3 races to pick and 3 powers, each power had 3 variations of it. So just by that, you have quite the customization for your character, then you would be thrown into the Red War and go from there. You had tons of weapons and the maps were huge. (this when Destiny was still on Blizzard, can't comment much to when it came on Steam, because I barely played it. Did some Crucibles [pvp] and Gambit [PvE/PvP], so yeah) I also don't think, The First Descent will ever top Destiny 2. Maybe it is a mix of both, Warframe and Destiny, I have no idea.

I've played Gley on Beta and played Ultimate Bunny on release. With Gley you actually get to shoot things, with Bunny you basically just sprint around with your AOE and kill things. I tried different weapons and aside from some recoil and damage difference, there isn't much to say. I guess the only thing that makes them REALLY different is that you can sprint/run faster if you have a smaller weapons, like a Pistol or SMG. If you don't aim, you can shoot a sniper like shooting a pistol, shooting with SMG like shooting with a AR, the difference is really in damage and fire rate. What I mean to say, is that none of the weapons, aside the Launcher (which shoots granades, which I assume it does) causes an explosion, which is really cool I guess.

Another thing that I think that is positive in this game is that, you have "different classes" for the characteres. I mean, for example Bunny is a AOE character and Gley a single target character. You might wanna do a search on the character before unlocking it, because don't get me wrong, your main focus or what people will expect you to do is what that character is for. You can also shoot and try to kill with weapons with a Bunny, but you will be expected to insta kill the adds with your AOE skill. From my knowledge, so far, you have AOE (also trash killers) characters, single target characters (boss killers, they are expected to deal big damage to the bosses) and the supports (which can heal, provide ammo or defense to them and others). In the end pick the character you like the most visually, but if you go for Bunny, forget about weapons (unless you are fighting a boss) because you only need to run around, as of now, she is the faster trash killer in the game.

About the store and currency, to be honest, I don't really pay much attention to this. Since it is a free to play game, it is understandable that they wish to gain profit for their work and to continue provide support. You can basically get everything in the game for free if you are willing to farm it. The only thing you can't get are skins and dyes, which, imo, it is understandable also. Also, I don't think there is a PvP mode in this game, so the whales won't affect you in that regard and you can actually complete things faster if they one shot everything. Don't worry about missing somethings, due to the next time you enter some activity it will repeat all over, so don't get annoyed by whalers lmao

TL;DR.: If you enjoy a VERY repetitive game where you just go and shoot things, with minimal reward and also effort, this game might be for you. If you want a more varied experience and actually feel like it was worthing doing X or Y activity, maybe you want to try a different game.

Edit.: So my friend made me continue to play this game with him, at least to try out the end game, which basically happens when you finish the story. I have to say, after you finish the main story, the game became a bit more fun. You don't need to do the braindead missions over and over again so you can unlock end game content, the grind is okay and the hard bosses are actually fun. Also, the devs are making some changes here and there (no need to kill the boss balls, that gives them invulnerability, in sequence, now you can just murder them and murder the boss, believe it or not, this is a big change).

Go to your Epic Games (website) account settings and unlink your Epic Games Account from your Steam Account, this will bypass the "Connection to EOS". But you won't be able to play with your Epic Games friends, you can only play with your Steam friends.

You can also opt to remove Epic Games entirely from your computer, by doing the following:

> Make sure the Epic Store program is uninstalled then do this;
> Before launching the game for the first time, go there -> "C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dead Island 2" and delete the EpicGameLauncher folder;
> Then open the "DeadIsland.ini" file in notepad and modify the "NoOperation=0" to "NoOperation=1".

In any case, the game is fun... Specially if you are playing with friends. I loved the first two installments of Dead Island, so this was a must for me.
