I come back to this game once in a while and it is always a breath of fresh air. The gameplay is simple, fun, cooperative and the players seem to be social and pretty cool. If anyone has recommendations for other games that fit that description please let me know in da comments. :) And "smash that like button"? Is that what I'm supposed to say or is that just youtube vids

Don't go into it looking for what you're supposed to 'do.' Don't look for the objective. Just take a breath, enter Bob Ross state of mind, and exist within this little world. It's a bit of a meditative experience that I like to play for about 20 minutes at a time and is pretty much one of a kind.

I like the spirit of the game, and I enjoy the nature walks and animal photography. The only problem is that mushrooms are too hard to find in this game - I've found 3 morels in 3 hours. If that is fixed then I'll gladly make my review positive.

It's cool, only suggestion is to start players off with easier puzzles.

Fun and hilarious casual party game. Much more fun with friends, but something I think everyone should try. I would say it's best played in short bursts. It's not a game you should expect hundreds of hours from (I only have that many because I was playing it during a more unhealthy time in my life). But the first few hours are a really good time, so it's definitely worth it for that. If it gets a level editor and promotes user-generated levels then it would add a ton more replay value.

I get this is early access, but my experience was not what the trailer promised. 90% of my playtime has been spent as a lonely dinosaur just walking around, doing nothing but trying to find other players on maps that are way too oversized, where the amount of players I have encountered and my hours played are about equal. If that's your kink then you have arrived.

Came for the racing, stayed for the homicidal schoolbuses.

Controls are simulation/arcade. I strongly prefer pure arcade racers, but it's still a solid experience. It's also pretty much the only destruction racer with active online, so it offers a unique experience in an otherwise sorely underrepresented genre.

No tutorial, which is made worse by the controls not being very intuitive... still don't understand how to drift without mashing the trigger button. I'll try to revisit this again but it's not a good first impression.

It's a fun game. It's a very video gamey game if that makes sense. Doesn't try to be anything else. Yes, since I grew up Road Rash, I'll compare them: they're somewhat similar, but Road Redemption is a lot more violent - it's more like Mad Max. The online wasn't as good as I hoped so I'll only recommend the single-player, which is fun, with its rpg-progression/roguelike system raising the stakes.

Edit: I've gotten farther into the game and I enjoy the new powers you get, makes things way more interesting.

Didn't like it at first, then tried it with a controller, which changed everything. It's a great game, and even though I will list some criticisms I have, I think it's a must-own, or at least a must-try.

Pros:
- Great for either casual or competitive play. There's a really high skill-ceiling but you don't need to be good to enjoy playing.
- Ideal 'pick-up-and-play' game, matches only last 5 minutes.
- Various customization options

-Players can be toxic
-Salty Shores level is way too bright

If you have an addictive personality you may want to be confident that you can control the game from becoming a habit and something to fill the hole that is ur life wait I mean uhh... but for real, the issue with (all) multiplayer games is that they're habit-forming because there's no technical "The End" to reach, so you have to decide on your own when to take a break.

There are also some unfriendly players sometimes. Usually it's nothing too bad, just casual quickchat trolling. I guess the competitive nature of the game makes people aggressive in the moment. It can feel bad when someone says "What a save!" after you made a mistake, but it's nothing too major, and some matches are perfectly polite. Just roll with the punches.

Despite all those criticisms, it's a very cool game overall. Check it out.

Edit: I'm giving this a negative review because I'm convinced it will go free-to-play sometime this year. So, why would I recommend someone buy something that I believe is about to be free? Plus, after 400 hours, I'm tired of it now.
