So, just like me!

Do I recommend it? Yeah but well there are caveats:

-Kinda short
-A bit repetitive
-Not a true puzzle game
-Would be an easier recommend at $6.99

So still just like me.

"Not a true puzzle game" just means that's it's puzzle-ish but there aren't many brain-scratchers. Most of the game is wanton hole action. As for myself, "not a true puzzle game" just means that I'm not a real puzzle game, except on Friday nights when I LARP in the forest as a Tetris block with my fellow Tetriskin.

As for how long the game is, if you don't rush and just kick back and enjoy the writing and silliness you should get about 2.5 hours. I rushed a bit and feel bad nao.

Ultimately it's a narrative-driven game of a silly, amusing short story more than anything, and good in that respect. It's a fresh, cool game just wait til it's <$10 or just play it now if you're feeling spicy. It's also very kid friendly so if you have one of those things I think you could spend a good afternoon with Donut County.

Multiplayer doesn't work.

Rest of the game seems okay. I'll probably keep it. But jeez dudes. I just wanted that sweet sweet multi magic.

This game snuck up on me. Like an assassin in the night, disguised in anime and fluffiness.

At first I thought "Well it's kinda fun, I'll probably get two or three hours out of this." And like with many board games, there's a fair amount of rules to absorb at first.

But the longer I played and learned the rules, the more I enjoyed it. I haven't played the single-player thus I can't comment on that. But 100% OJ is an entertaining pick-up-and-play game and recommended if you like the multiplayer shenanigans and tide-turning randomness of party games. May Lady RNG have mercy on us all.

Bob Was Hungry is an excellent precision-platformer that you can play with up to 8 players online.

The difficulty really gets up there -- especially if you go after the coveted BBQ sauce hidden in tight spots -- and so it's been fun to take on the challenge with my friend. It's one of those games where usually, the difficulty feels fair. Sometimes I thought a level was literally impossible at first, but then magically conquered it through sheer effort.

The only negatives I have are that a few times the wall jumps felt like I didn't stick to walls well enough, and online multiplayer requires the host to have good Internet or else there will be unreasonable load times. But once I let my friend host, everything was smooth.

Back to the good stuff. There are several levels (I think 80+?), double that amount if you include Hard mode. Both co-op and a vs. mode (the vs. mode is the most fun imo but both are great). So, this has quite a bit of lasting value.

Bob Was Hungry is an easy recommendation for anyone who wants a good time with friends or just a challenging platformer. You will feel pain, but also triumph. Especially in vs. mode, as you watch friends feel pain of their own. And really, isn't that the best triumph of all?

I only played this for a couple hours, so bear that in mind. In a few ways, Outcast 1.1 is ahead of its time. It impressed me with its storytelling, humor, sound, and some minor touches that made it feel like it's a game that goes the extra mile. But it shows its age in its visuals and gameplay. Combat feels rough, just navigating around feels ehh. It has what is perhaps the most emasculating running animation in all of video games.

I won't pretend I played a lot of the game, and I may give it another try down the road because I like its style. If you are unfazed by older, clunky feeling gameplay then you may like the game, and I could see it being quite interesting if you could get past that. But it's just a little too rough in the gameplay for me and that was enough to convince me to stay outcasted for now. My recommendation of a somewhat similar but way more palatable RPG is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

This hurts, because it has humorous and intelligent writing, but time wasn't a friend to Anachronox. We're seeing a game that you're rooting for lose the good fight here.

I'll start with the graphics. You know, graphics aren't everything, but...

YOWZA!

It's almost terrifying, at times, how truly bad its graphics are, even with low expectations. "Buzz, your girlfriend... WOOF!"

Still, graphics are graphics. However hideous, if there's great gameplay, like a good combat system, you can find the good game hidden underneath. Anachronox's combat is just as bad as its graphics; I'm a fan of turn-based combat, but this is too dated, even for me. It has no depth and takes too long. Makes you wonder what you're doing with life.

This is an easy nomination for game most in need of a remake -- said as a compliment, in the sense that it deserves to be remade. Well, reworked too. Rework its combat and update its graphics and it will deserve high praise.

As it stands, I respect its wit and its style, but Anachronox didn't make it out of 2001 in one piece.

For alternate suggestions, I highly recommend Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Similar game that has held up far better.

There's not much to this game but puzzles. But, with maybe one or two exceptions, all of its puzzles are the perfect balance of being difficult enough to make you think they're impossible to solve at first, and easy enough that you'll solve them after just the right amount of effort. That's its strength, presenting something impossible and the player quickly seeing it's not.

So, it's difficult to say this is a classic because there's nothing here but atmosphere and puzzles, but what it did, it did very well.

Cool idea, it just needs more to be entertaining. Suggestions include teams, adding quick minor graphics for special events (i.e. rain, fog, rabid cats), uploadable character sprites/music, or an ability to toggle on nametags or thumbnails for each combatant so I can see who's who without mousing over.

Again, a cool idea that could be fun if taken further.

+ Easy, fun mechanics
+ Three terrifically absurd 18-hole courses
- Could use a fourth course
+ A fourth course is on its way
+ Highly customizable: ramp up the challenge and/or kookiness with physics modifications
~ Being early access, a rare minor glitch here or there
+ Active, friendly developer

Golf With Your Friends is an early access title that is destined to be one of the best party games on Steam, though it's up there already. It's very fun, I look forward to watching it grow. In the meantime, it's an easy recommend.

Bonus: If you're playing with kids, let them see the list of room names if you want to expose them to a colorful world of creative writing.

I was being sarcastic. Don't do that. But I'm sure it's a fun family game otherwise.
