I generally stray away from FPS games, as I've always thought they were overrated my whole life. L4D2 is a wonderful exception. The attention to detail is leagues above any modern AAA game released today. Shooting zombies in certain areas actually severs limbs and makes guts spill out appropriately. Double thumbs up.

This game is more enjoyable with three other friends. You can definitely play it alone with three bots, but the masochism that occurs when you tell Dan to not throw the molotov at the Witch and then it ends up downing him is nothing short of hilarious. I recently got a chance to shoot one from afar with a grenade launcher, and I did NOT pass that up. And it was a Waluigi launcher. And the Witch was Princess Peach. And the chase music was Sponge Monger from Spongebob. The one who fired the launcher was Sunset Shimmer from MLP, who teamed up with Revali, Zelda, and Engineer to survive the apocalypse together.

I knew I enjoyed it during my first time playing, because we were on the second chapter of Dead Center and I was already making special infected call outs. Generally I stick with the default pistol (or go dual-wield if there's a second one) and a silenced machine gun. My aim isn't great, so if bullet fire fast and hit zombie, me okay.

After playing again, I find myself coming back more and more often. It's a wonderful take on a zombie shooter, since it isn't focused on simply surviving as long as you can, but rather getting to the next checkpoint with everyone alive. If someone DOES die completely during a mission, they'll either get revived at the start of the next mission, or they'll respawn in a closet after a couple minutes have passed, needing to be let out (assuming there's one in the level). There IS a survival mode and PVP mode, but who the heck plays those? Pffffffft.

I have yet to complete the L4D2 campaigns, but I have to say that I found a Sunset Shimmer (pony) replaces Coach mod on my second session and haven't turned it off since. Absolute 20/10. Sunset Shimmer is best pony anyway, Don't @ me. Grab three friends and start shooting zombies. If you're lucky, you'll be able to shoot Yoshi with a Smith and Wesson 500. Highly recommend this game.
