This game has a fun spin on the Bullet Heaven genre with programmable weapons that can be hot-swapped between rounds during your run. Each round is a nice little bite-sized segment. There are many intriguing options with which to craft your arsenal that have visual impact on the look of your evolving character.

This game is a roguelike, deck building, rpg that hits all three of those genres very well. It has a ton of depth and replayability. There are several ways to play each character. And this game is multiplayer to boot!If you have friends that enjoy these kinds of games, great! You can bring up to three friends into a game.If you don't, there is a very active community in their Discord that allows spontaneously generated voice lobbies to start up games with community members looking for parties as well.

This game looks polished and feels great. Even though this is merely a brief demo of the game yet-to-be, it is clearly a project of love and ingenuity.

The controls, the play, and the feel of maneuvering and utilizing your mech suit is fluid, crisp, and clean. The graphics are beautifully vibrant without any performance issues - even with the unending swarm descending upon you at the end of it.

I am genuinely watching out for this game's release with eager anticipation. The only thing that I would request to be added is co-op play with a buddy mech. I'm having a hard time thinking about the last time I was this excited about a single player game. So far my list is FFVII, Portal, Cyberpunk, FFVII Remake, and now this - The Rift Breaker.

The only downside I can think of to this game is subjective: it is a major time sink. So, let that be a pro or con as ever it is to you.
The day cycles are long, which means so are the nights. This is one game you do NOT want to go easy on the defenses.
Trying to manage everything can be a challenge, even on the easy newbie mode with limited enemies. Moving on to the standard mode magnifies the difficulty. The drastic differences in the difficulty levels makes this game accessible to the hardcore and casual gamers alike.
One great thing is that I think the store video does a good job advertising this game. The video is not deceiving of what to expect the game to be like. So, if it looks good to you, then it should definitely be a great purchase.
In game there is a button that brings you to the game's Discord channel that is constantly monitored by helpful moderators and a serious developer that really wants this game to be great. They take feedback, suggestions, and general chat very well.
Overall, my experience with this game is well worth it. And I'm only beginning to play the game. I plan on putting another 500 hours into this game.

It's a very grindy game that can feel quite satisfying when you complete an objective you set out to do. . . and by that time, you have most likely found a few more objectives you would like to complete. Yes, you will probably get bored or tired of it. Then you will miss it. Maybe not today, tomorrow, or this year. But every 1-5 years you'll want to come back and you'll still be where you left off.

The devs love their game and are constantly and consistently updating it with new stuff, events, quests, pets, and warframes. The game has continued to thrive since their beta launch with a booming economy that can easily be entered into without you having to spend your own cash. You can trade the stuff you farm for to get the currency from other players.

With all this in mind, you can feel free to grind a little or grind a lot and rest assured that you will always have new content to look forward to after each and every return to the game from any break, great or small.

Don't let the looks of the game fool you. It is a hard game to play. It's simple enough to get into, few controls are needed. However the gameplay is entirely skill-based and cooperative teamplay. In order to be the best you have to learn both. Being a toxic player will only hurt your abilities to perform well with a team and possibly reduce your effectiveness as a player entirely. If you can put in the patience to play the game, it is the most rewarding feeling to be successfully performing the maneuvers that make the game look amazing.

NOTE: This game is not pay-to-win. Purchases are cosmetic.

Early Access Review
I have enjoyed quite a bit of time with this game. I have taken a break from it shortly after the new system was made that made it more "survival-like" and expanded the planets to be significantly larger. I was just coming back to the game bringing a new friend with me having forgotten about the update since I had been use to the previous version.

With this in mind, I still do reaaly enjoy this game. I feel like it does many things right for the genres it represents. Unfortunately, I think it is now a little harder to get into when first starting out and that could be a real turn-off for new players. Once you go beyond that starting point, having gotten up and running, it is a great game.

It is a very beautiful game that understands players like aesthetics and has many great options available to allow for tons of creativity. It does nice work creating solid differences in the classifications of weapons and vehicles so things that should feel different actually do. The player base has been very friendly as well and is usually much more helpful than you might even ask for. And nobody takes any offense when told that you don't need any extra help if you'd rather do it for yourself.

When building things, you can either take the time consuming path of getting use to its system that allows you to do much more than the great majority of games of this type, or you can very easily go to the workshop and find TONS of blueprints of amazing designs and just place them once you have acquired the materials and crafted it in the blueprint factory. Producing blueprints is even more easy than it sounds, I promise.

Overall, I think the greatest quality about this game is that it allows for tons of creative freedom without being as overly complicated as games like Space Engineers.

Anyone who has enjoyed the Civilization franchise should have equal love for this one. It is very well balanced and has a good feel to it. Also, if you are someone who has lost a city because you forgot to garrison a unit in it and some random guy on a horse trots inside the town from beyond your vision range and claims it as his for free, you might appreciate this one more so.

Every city has its own defense. Taking over cities may seem more difficult now, but that's just because you never get a city for free. I do feel that in light of the built in defenses, they did a decent job balancing it out so cities are more stable. This is opposed to cities being absolutely defenseless when first created to being an impenetrable fortress if you have your entire army stacked into the same tile the city is on.

The only thing that I find to be frustrating for new players to figure out, in this particular piece of the franchise, is the Tourism mechanic for the cultural victory (which only comes in the "Brave New World" expansion." If you do get the expansion -- and honestly, who wouldn't want all of the content? -- make sure you do not neglect your culture when the Industrial Era starts encroaching or you could find your civilization very rapidly set into revolt.

If you enjoy playing it multiplayer but find that civilization can be SUPER time consuming when waiting for everyone else to finish their turn, just know that you can set up the turns in this one so that all human players that are not at war with each other can take their turns simultaneously and only have to wait for one another to take their turns while at war, or even set it up so even while at war, you all take your turns together. The only issue with this is if you are playing with allies, including preset teams, the camera will move to see the action of all combat units within vision. So try to avoid entering commands that require a location at the same time an ally is in combat elsewhere or you could find yourself sending a worker to your friend's front lines.

Have hours of fun and good luck!

This is an amazingly fun shooter game. If only it had enough advertising that people had known about it, it might still have online servers running. So, unless you are buying a 4-pack to play with some friends, it's not really worth getting. If you are going to run LAN parties, this one is definately a great one to throw in.
