I’ve had my eye on TFD since the 2023 Open Beta. The developers were new to me, though I knew they were the creators of Dave the Diver, but I didn’t know much more about them. One thing that can be said right away is that the developers are very responsive to feedback and are committed to making the game as good as possible.

It’s a PvE looter-shooter, often compared to Destiny and Warframe, but I find it unique. The story missions don’t offer the greatest variety, and much of what is sold in the shop is quite expensive. However, all important items can be earned in-game, which I think is the main point.

I find the story cutscenes very well done, but it must also be said: please don’t expect a masterpiece of a story. It’s okay, but it won’t blow you away.

The different characters, weapons, areas, etc., are very well designed. There’s a lot to loot, and the grind factor is extremely high (it feels like you get 20% fewer items than you should).

Conclusion:
If you’re into looter-shooters with a lot of grind, bosses, and a variety of characters and abilities, it’s definitely worth a try. It’s free, so give it a go and form your own opinion. What do you have to lose?
