Oh this was a fantastic game! Gameplay: fantastic, visuals: fantastic, story: fantastic, loads of secrets: fantastic. This is one of those games you wish you could forget all about it and experience it again for the first time.

Even though for me there's not much nostalgia involved, having played the original only a little bit at friend's place, I've enjoyed this very much.

My only critic is that the startup of the game is quite long on the Steam Deck, sometimes even feels like the game is not even starting. Loading times in game are okay, though sometimes surprisingly long considering how "simple" the game and levels are.

Still, more than 10 years since the release, this game is just as great it was back then. <3

As a game where you drive around shooting, this game is fine. But as a part of the Mafia franchise this game is quite the let down.

The few hours in the beginning were awesome. It was kinda like the older games, things starting slowly and then some small action. The story telling was great to the point Lincoln got shot, so not for very long.
After that it was quite lame. You just drove around and killed people. That's it. The missions were all the same with just slight variations. Not big enough to make the game any more interesting. After three capos killed, you have seen all the game has to offer.

Gameplaywise the game was quite enjoyable. Shooting was great and driving was great. AI could have been better but I've seen a lot worse. The open world -ness brought a lot into the game but also took away a lot which was great in the older games, the story telling.

All the characters were nice. Everyone had a personal look and feeling to them.
The facial animations were awesome. One of the best I've seen.

I've played both of the older games several times. Don't see myself playing this any second more now that I've finished it.

Would I recommend this game?
- For open world lovers who don't care if things are "a little" repetitive? Yes.
- For Mafia fans? Sadly, no.

Meh.

Pretty boring and repetitive. Stealth is nothing but staying in the shadows and maybe taking enemies down one by one with only TWO different moves. One from behind and one from above. Different types of arrows was pretty neat but didn't really use them that much.

Story was boring as hell. Boy loses girl, boy goes on and saves the girl.
Did a few side missions too but they were all the same basically.

Voice acting and lip sync was terrible.

First the soundscape was just horrible, but after the Mantle update it worked pretty well. Mantle also gave a really nice boost for performance.

No replay value at all, for me atleast. Hopefully some people find the custom difficulty and scoring system fun.
