Fun game for the 40 minutes or so it takes. Graphics similar to Mega Drive but with a few nes style models, dunno why the decision. It remembers me Megaman Wily Arms. Cool musics but they never stops until you finish the stage, not even when you die. Also the CRT filter in options is good for real and I give them points for it.
It's easy in the regular difficult until you reaches the last stage where it gets a spike, but it doesn't use life counts nor score system. Also the gameplay consists in Contra style jumps but shooting only to the front with the regular weapon or one of the replacements you can get in the stages. Simply and honest, you see what you get.

Never liked the art style of this game and the content it had on release of just 8 characters plus the expensive DLC ones after the crowdfunding, although I should praise how they were decided by vote and must point I only have this game and played it because I won it as a gift from somewhere I don't remember.
However, the current people developing this game since the original creator Mike Zaimont was cutted from it because of a legal prosecution of misbehavior (btw, still going on in appeal with judge giving him the upper hand in first stance at the time of this writing) are delusional and thinks their bubble represents the majority of the playerbase, so they censored the game years after the release removing not only images that "may" trigger the likes of them but also even content that was part of the crowdfunding rewards.
Since censorship isn't acceptable in any form I'll be leaving this here so people who can eventually think it's a good idea to buy it because of more characters being released see what is happening.

This is the survival horror I've been expecting for years since the genre almost died.
Clearly inspired by the first Resident Evil, the game not only gives the option to fixed camera and above the shoulder but changes some parts to better balance the experience with this. The OST is also on point, much better than the modern REs.
The only problems I can point are the low budget feeling of the cutscenes, poor variety of enemies (there's actually a good number, but they recycle their patterns) and the difficult to guess how you achieve each ending of the game.

Another phenomenal game by Sinclair Strange. Follows the nes limitations (or GB if you choose) with the option to turn off some of them like flickering. I never liked the nes Castlevanias too much because of the trunked controls and level design created to make the player memorize it after some cheap deaths, but this game is much more balanced, like Adventure 2 and Legends.
My only complains are how the fire whip appears too often, being it 3 times more powerfull than the default one, and how the bosses are easily defeated following just a couple of patterns easy to dodge, but this game is insanely cheap so there's no mistake getting it.

What amazing game, both the art and arcade gameplay are something that could be passed as 90's games, just like Maldita Castilla for those who played it.
More fun for me than a lot of modern bullet hell released over here and its unique style mixing like 90% shoot'em up and 10% puzzle brings, indeed, a inovative and well implemented experience. Plus it's cheap, so no excuses for the fans of the genre not catch.

Great game, push the 7800 limits for real and it's fun. It's clearly inspired by Capcom's Chip'n Dale mechanics but with a self identity.
Particularly I hadn't any issue with the game, but the segmented puzzle stages style is not for everyone so keet this in mind.
Good to have the opportunity to play this one here since it's almost impossible to buy the console over here.

Good game, better than the original but not than the Master System version, excluding by the bland OST, but you have the option to replace it by the Mega Drive musics so it doesn't matter much.
The use of 2.5D is justified by some mechanics at certain points of the stage, being not possible on regular 2D, and Mickey's jump attack receives a small unspired downgrade sice he doesn't use his "back" anymore to soft fall on the enemies.

I think this game is a wasted oportunity, it shines in every single aspect excluding the gameplay. I could pass this, maybe, if it was a mobile game, but on Steam? Why not make it an arena beat'em up with little more effort? It's already cheap, so a bit more for this wouldn't be a problem.
Despise your funcion being click on the enemies to help the heroes and, sometimes, buy extra help in form of other characters or powerups, there's a few bugs left like weird hit detection depending on the position of the minions and the hub on the upper side of the screen changing icons or disapearing without reason.
Overall, I'm really disapointed by this one, it was promissing by the art style.

Good game on the same veins of Mercs, Shock Troopers and other classics. Art direction pretty on point, with some funny jokes and voice act, rock OST combining with the action and fair difficult but not on the same level of the inspirations, however I think the hurtbox of the player should be a bit smaller because sometimes you think you'll be safe of the shots but they hit you.
Also, the main menu and general hud interface should be a little more polished, like the font of the buttons getting off them in other resolutions and the lack of life counter with a more traditional limit like the arcades.
I should point here the controller configuration is a mess, I use the Playstation pad and took me literally hours to configure it going to the Windows registry and copy-pasting the hex codes of each input. The Unit configuration menu acts weird and makes impossible to redefine some keys, and X-input emulator or the Steam menu couldn't help me either. Supposedly it should work right with a normal Xbox pad.
At the end this is a must get for old school fans of arcade games but caution with the controller, it may not work and you will have to play with the keyboard or change the registry.

What a good game! Never feels unfair, good musics, charming enemies and the visuals keeps, for real, nes graphics in short reins without the mess we generally got on "retro" style. I hate 8-bit graphics but at least this one does the job right about this.
Only wished a controller configuration menu, an option to quit the game on the title screen and difficult on all stages at the same level of Stage X.
Cheering for the return of the bad dude in a sequel, even better following snes or MD limitations!
