Final Score: 9/10 -- Disregard my playtime. I read the thing before it came out on Steam. I also recieved the Steam version as a gift, so giving full disclosure here.
This game is absolutely god-tier, and is damn near perfection. If you enjoyed Steins;Gate, you'll absolutely enjoy this one too. I can't recommend getting this game enough, that is, if you also bother getting the Committee of Zero patch, which fixes most of, if not all of my gripes with the technical side of the game: https://steamproxy.net/app/970570/discussions/0/1776010325102875918/

The big question mark for newer players going into ChäoS;Child, is "What's up with the semi-colon? How's it related to Steins;Gate?" Both are part of the Science Adventure franchise, a series of interconnected stories tackling various Science Fiction subjects and conspiracies, like Time Travel, to the AI revolution, and so on. ChäoS;Child is the spiritiual successor to ChäoS;HEAd NoAH, released in Japan in 2009, and unfortionately wasn't ever localized for an English audience. This game *will* reference the original quite a bit, and also spoil it, but ChäoS;Child *can* be read as a standalone experience. Most of what you need to understand the plot will be explained in-game as you move along.

The port unfortionately had some pretty major technical issues on release, but I'm happy to say that these issues are no more because of the Committee of Zero patch. Playing with it is an absolute must!

This game is absolutely worth every penny you'd spend on it.
