vikings "sacrificed" every 1st and similar person just to tolerate every other religion and convert to every 1st culture they beat? imagine "pluralism" and human sacrifice in one sentence.

get your ♥♥♥♥ together paradox, look outta window at swedes today.

asatru becomes like most pathetic religious image conceived; it makes africans look like wise tribal civilization of peace, while norse are quite gimped; though it makes silly vengeful kids count as "good rulers"
*there's literally 2 decisions added which are easy to miss; event spam can get horrible; holy sites are uniquely ruined and useless; if you end some pope, you power up christendom like nothing else, that's some kind of propaganda at this point lol

**There is continuing debate about whether the rite was a literary invention, a mistranslation of the original texts, or an authentic historic practice. (as well as "sacrifice" at all)
"the hitherto notorious rite of the 'Blood Eagle,' the killing of a defeated warrior by pulling up his ribs and lungs through his back, has been shown to be almost certainly a Christian myth resulting from the misunderstanding of some older verse."

it is all like comparison to proverbial "egyptian pagans", which supposedly did human sacrifice (like foreign canaan and later carthage were said to do) - while they actually would beat you to death if you hurt sacred cats. (even centuries later, by sheer inertia)

nice and perfect example of Unity game, easily better than civs, may as well give it 10/10; custom factions are overpowered, but so it was in MoO2, which it may remind;
+ way simpler than ES2, but i'd call it even better, graphics are great while it can run on potato analog calculator

roll deadly dice until you learn math, probably sucks without dlcs, but would be much easier

devs seem to have made little of their smallest promises, not even modding support, but ~any kind of mods are being made anyway, even big expansions; without speed up mods game must be barely playable beyond 1 playthrough

before the last dlc and mods i wouldn't rate it positively, but now those are additions right on point, but it's not meant to be perfect, everything has quirks and plenty of things are obsolete / useless easily

seems interesting, some called it simplified CK2, but everything is actually weird unbalanced, if not misplaced, mechanics; the combat simulation might be most weird, so don't expect even decent total war level

AI seems to provide no challenge as it is barely smart enough to play in most basic way, unite england and france and you almost won, though map is pretty big to move through; there are national units, but someone like ireland practically has no usable or good units, being a gimped region, and still you can win easily; by even "one weird trick" you could entirely surpass most countries with a few gold investments, player is just way smarter in this complicated system, which also has many useless things

complicated fantasy civ (even a bit too varied, even with tactics) with dead multiplayer due to it, even (2015) old impression was: you need like 100 hours to get properly proficient (or at least try everything once); not quite fancy and yet graphically demanding somehow

Our duty is to hold on to the lost position, without hope, without rescue, like that Roman soldier whose bones were found in front of a door in Pompeii, who, during the eruption of Vesuvius, died at his post because they forgot to relieve him. That is greatness. That is what it means to be a thoroughbred.

polish guy made free game to promote his pancake recipe and created a demonic sect

once again proves that poles run the world and polish mercantile genius is second to none(the ♥♥♥♥♥♥); also even white bread is better than those pancakes

//most important historic event so far, in a century, and i'm relieved to see that's what hardcore marxist-leninist communists actually like (no, not because it's free)

>Players like you love this game.
unfortunately i'm not a player like me; even sudoku would be better tbh, there isn't even a minesweeper or well anything, i didn't expect it to be THAT casual and tiny; the "boss" is not for old people, ok, but it looks like 1000% rigid-scripted, i was first hoping for dynamic random things, but at least it's not rogue legacy; instead of becoming hokage, you can bail out to catholic militarist heaven with sharp uniforms

some furry wrote the soundtrack (bad in game practice, it confuses the rhythm) and again tbh the most mentally challenged and broken things they can make are kind of better gamedev or effort; it can be speedrunned for slight laughs in 4 minutes, provided you have polish-japanese nobleman ancestry

If only I could show you the places I have seen, you might understand the things I say. I have been to the Desolate Lands, wandered by those souls who still see the lands of the living but wear the cloak of the dead. Blind to their own ends, they cry, passing through one another like shadows in the dying light of day. I have travelled to where souls rot in torment, pierced with the jagged shards of life and vision, clinging to memory - regrets of the flesh. I saw that this prison was of their own making, and that the key was in unknowing, in release... and still, I travelled on. And finally, I came to the place where souls go to die. Where the mirrored and worn spirits fall into an endless sea of grey, mirrored glass... and I lowered myself within... and lay among them... and I almost did not return. And do you know what I found there? There, among the silent and battered shells of the innumerable? Peace. Enlightenment. Truth. Only then I realized that this place, this "Life", is an abomination, a horrible distortion of the natural order.

This "Life", who mothered Pain, and Fear, and Envy - these twisted children who exist only because we are here to feed them, to nourish them. This "Life", this... afterthought - a disturbance, a mere ripple in that great, dead sea, not even the cause, but merely an effect, sending these souls upwards, screaming for release from the day they are torn from their waters! The effect of what! I do not know. Nor do I care.

I see your soul, traveler. It screams, tattered and spent. Do you feel its pull? Do you hear its wailing? It is within my power to calm these waters, and that is what I shall do.

Have you ever spoken with the dead? Called to them from this side, pulled them from their silent rest? Do you know what it is that they feel? Pain. Pain, when torn into this wakefulness, this reminder of the chaos from which they had escaped. Pain, at having to live. There will be no more pain. There will be no more chaos.
